Legends of the Fall Blu-ray

Legends of the Fall Blu-ray Review

Does anyone have any info on the postponing of this title or when we could possibly see this released?

I am hoping before Christmas because this would make a great stocking stuffer for my girlfriend. This is one of her favorite movies and it does have very beautiful scenery that would be nice to see in 1080p.

Thanks for any input in advance guys.

Not sure... There was a preview of it right before Casino Royale. It said 'coming soon'. Wonder what that means?

But yeah, Legends of the Fall would be awesome on Blu-ray.

I haven't even heard a release date yet, so certainly not before Christmas.

Thanks for the reply. I know most likely this will not be out before Christmas

I was just hoping maybe someone might know something the rest of us don't.

This website has it as "postponed" and a price for it of $28.95.

My most favorite movie and my biggest BD frustration.

This film has been listed as COMING SOON when BD was launched, now here years later and it's still not been released. I thought for sure we'd see it fall 08' but alas, it's not here. I can only hope it gets released 1st quarter 09'.

I tell you I just salivate at the thought of this beautifully photographed film in HD and my favorite Horner score in TRUEHD.

Bring it on!!

I guess they realised they need a new transfer. The preview clip was oversharpened.

I remember Paidgeek had commented similarily on the transfer on one of these forums, stating that the transfer had to be re-done.

I can see how this title could have some BD enthusiast thinking it "soft" as it's shot in a very diffused style. Whenever they come out with it, i'll be there. Can't wait to see John Toll's photography in HD and to hear Horner's score in lossless surround.

Hello! My wife recently asked me about this and wants me to get it. Any idea when this might be released?

See above. Despite being old, this information is still accurate, no dates, or estimated release yet.

I have not heard even a hint of a rumor concerning a Blu-ray release. Your best bet in finding information on it is asking Penton-Man, a Sony executive, directly on his Insider's thread.

Sure, your "wife" asked. It's your "wife" that wants the movie, uh huh.

Seriously, for a so-called chick flick, this movie is actually much more about "men" themes, like brotherhood, duty and dealing with one's primal self in a civilized world. Take out less than ten minutes of sweaty grunting with a shirtless Brad Pitt and there'd be nothing here for most women to hook into. First day purchase for me when Sony gets to it.

The one film I pray to come to Bluray is the one film that keeps getting pushed further and futher back. It's already missed it's anniversary and each fall I keep waiting for them to release, alas to no avail. Now I can only guess they are trying to figure which way to market it.

One thing for sure, with a film that was listed in ads from the very beginning of the Bluray era, it sure has taken a looooooooong time to come to BD.

Sorry, disagree, girl here and I like movies about men themes (in my opinion, not enough of those out there; action/explosion type movies - yes, but not enough "men themes"). But I agree, don't know why this is considered a "chick fllick". And you're man enough to say it's not.
