I believe the UK/US ones are, and they come with the 3D disc which has the IMAX footage.

Sadly, no. There hasn't been a 20% off sale in a while. Soon hopefully. I thought they may have done one for Father's Day

Pitty on the 1 disc status though.. Disney really hates putting any substantial effort into special features
It is! Incredibly so. The entire crack down the centre and into the shield and helmet. It's fantastic!!

Would be nice to get some official confirmation from someone that has the 3D disc that the aspect ratio does change for the airport fight.

Cant take pictures as my daughter is watching Cinderella now but what exactly are you asking to see: whether the IMAX scenes have any black bars at the top and bottom?

AR looks to be 1.85:1.

Before and after is my guess (ie a shot just before the picture opens up and then a shot with it opened up) but we all know what it will look like at lest you will if you have watched GotG.

Just finished watching this and a few thoughts:

Either I'm getting too old for action movies or the caliber of today's movies just isn't up to scratch... I just didn't enjoy this at all.

[Show spoiler]Don't you think they've got more than their fair share of mileage out of 'bucky'? He was good for a sidekick for Cap in the first movie, but just seems there to drag the movie down. How many times has he 'died' now? And what's with Deadeye Dick? I'd had enough of him after the first Thor movie...

I never thought they could top the annoyance factor of the first modern spiderman(s) but they seemed to do it here no problem at all. What a nonce he was...

The big fight sequence was just a mess.

Antman however, was cool. He needs another movie. Solo.

Anyway dont sake it all too seriously maybe my love affair with superhero movies is all but over.

Yes, it should be 1.85:1 according to Disney.

I watched this last night for my third viewing, and continue to love it more and more each time I watch it. It should be noted, however, that I'm a marvel 'fanboy' and this movie was like a wet-dream that had been building up for 8 years for me...

Bucky is used in the films as Cap's emotional center-point - he represents a time in his life he desperately wants back, and represents his greatest regret in life (allowing him to die on that train in the first film).
This was often Cap's motivation in the comics - especially the earlier ones and in Ed Brubaker's later run. So, in that instance it holds very true to source material. The friendship also ties the three films together to form a concise 'trilogy'... if you're discounting the Avengers films.

Only the once, in The First Avenger. He was revived and later appeared as the antagonist of Winter Soldier. At the end of that film he went on the run, but didn't die. It sent Cap and Falcon on a "missing persons case", which was referenced in Age of Ultron and solved in this one. And he's certainly not dead by the end of Civil War either.

Wait... Who?

Honestly can't think of anyone who was in the first Thor that appeared again here...

EDIT: Completely forgot Hawkeye was in Thor... That's how much of an interest I have in that character myself...

He will. 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' is due in cinemas in 2018... if you count that a solo film

Is the 3D disc also playable on 2D players, or is the disc locked?

More than likely it will be locked considering the pack also comes with a 2D disc. I've not known Disney to produce an un-locked 3D disc

Well I finally got my hands on it, woo hoo! Bad news though, Kiwis, we don't get shininess. Which is just so typical, no wonder I barely buy blu-rays locally, they put zero effort in, and can't even be bothered giving us what the Aussies get as well. It's utterly pathetic.

Between the no shininess and our ugly ratings logo covering the majority of Steve's shield, it's very frustrating. Thank god for the steelbook and the Blufans coming up, not to mention I can't wait to see what Novamedia gives us.

Btw, JB Hi-Fi are advertising it in their brochure as them being the exclusive retailers in NZ for the Team packaging, but The Warehouse also has it available. If they actually put their brochures out before they started I would've gone there instead of JB, but they snooze, they lose, I guess.

Whoa! What the hell??

I didn't think it was possible for anyone to put any LESS effort into a release than our market... And I thought our logo was ugly

Oh well, I'm glad you've got your hands on it

Enjoy all the features - I've watched most of it but haven't got a chance to watch the 2-part 45 minute doco. Was going to pop it on after work last night, but ended doing a Gene Wilder tribute with Willy Wonka and Blazing Saddles.
Hopefully I get around to it tonight

ENJOY!!!!

So, Marvel is advertising "exclusive bonus features" for the digital HD download of the film, but absolutely no details on them.
Anyone know anything about this?
I'm assuming the digital download with the disc will include access to all this stuff? Bit of a digital copy novice - I rarely claim them.

I'm uh, so glad we beat you in something. And yes, our ratings logo is ugly as hell and I hate it. And after some thought I've decided if JB have a 20% off sale soon and the Cap version is still in stock I'll buy it from Aussie and sell my version locally. I need the shininess, dammit.

I've watched everything now, all the extras and the commentary, too. It was a good one, they talked a lot about their process while making it and spoke a great deal about how they deal with character first instead of structure, which is obviously how it should be done but a lot of the time isn't. They said some things I agreed with and others I didn't, but it's all good. A nice listen overall and only a couple of quiet spots, and I'm glad the same writers and directors who made this film are also doing the next two Avengers ones.

Hopefully someone gives more info about the digital copy since I don't want to claim my code since I might be selling it. I guess maybe it's talking about the What Thor Was Doing short that's going to be included in the US?
