Same here. Still shows HD in my library on iPhone and iPad, but in the iTunes Store app it shows 4K and purchased. I guess it will eventually flow through, Speed has updated in my library.

This is great news, I got the 10-movie set on sale in the hope this might eventually happen.

  • Anatomy Of A Murder (1959) [HDR10]
  • Oliver! (1968) [HDR10]
  • The Social Network (2010) [Dolby Vision]
  • Stripes [Extended Cut] (1981) [HDR10]
  • Taxi Driver (1976) (Dolby Vision)

September 14th, as part of a Columbia Classics Vol. 2 set.

"Sense & Sensibility" (1995) which is currently available in 4K digitally, should be upgraded to HDR10 at the same time.

"Stripes" will be 4K for both theatrical and extended, but iTunes only carries the extended cut on the store in the U.S., so I don't know if the Theatrical Cut that ports in via Movies Anywhere will be upgraded or not.

"The Social Network" will also have a new unrated cut, so that may make it's way to iTunes either as an extra or a new listing.

Stripes theatrical is a hidden title on iTunes. I actually bought it on iTunes. Not sure why they no longer sell it. But hope it still gets upgraded.

Yeah, I have it imported from MA.

It's Sony, and Sony's weird about their cuts like that. Still no "Underworld" theatrical, HD or otherwise from ports. Some movies have both cuts available for sale as separate cuts, and others don't.

I do see that Apple now (recent development) offers the Theatrical Cut of "Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby" if it's imported from MA, but it's just HD, even if you own 4K rights.

I can confirm that a gifted code back when it was $4.99 will redeem and port out to MA in 4K.

Earlier in this thread, I recommended "The Book Of Life" be added to the thread, as it was the only title off the top of my head that is available in 4K on Disney+ in which the iTunes version (as well as other storefronts) is still HD, with no 4K version available for sale.

Brayden96 recently created a thread in which he added a list of titles available in 4K on Disney+/Star overseas without physical discs, and it contained multiple titles not available in 4K here in the U.S.

Whether XanderAE wants to include these in the "Unconfirmed" section is up to him, but when Disney first launched in the U.S., they had multiple 4K exclusive titles, but they have since become available via storefronts like iTunes, so I figure it's only a matter of time before these become available too.

Quote:
The BFG (2016) - 4K/DV/DA
The Cat from Outer Space (1978) - 4K/DV (currently available in 4K on Disney+)
The Day After Tomorrow (2004) - 4K/DV
The Devil Wears Prada (2006) - 4K/HDR10
DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) - 4K/DV (currently available in 4K via Disney+ in the US as well)
The Devil Wears Prada (2006) - 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, HDR
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017) - 4K/HDR10
High Fidelity (2000) - 4K/DV
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) - 4K/HDR10
Ice Age (2002) - 4K/HDR10
Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) - 4K/HDR10
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) - 4K/HDR10
Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) - 4K/HDR10
Kingdom of Heaven (2005) - 4K/HDR10
My Cousin Rachel (2017) - 4K/DV
Notorious (2009) - 4K/HDR10
Patton (1970) - 4K/DV
Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997) - 4K/DV
Rushmore (1998) - 4K/DV
There's Something About Mary (1998) - 4K/HDR10
Unbreakable (2000) - 4K/DV
500 Days of Summer (2009) - 4K/HDR10 (currently available to purchase in 4K on Amazon Prime Video)

It also appears that Paramount will be releasing the following two titles on October 12th in the US:
  • The Addams Family (1991)
  • Scream (1996)

On Blu-ray, yes. No mention of a digital release and nothing yet on iTunes, at least in the U.S. anyway. Thanks, HBO Max!

Yeah, there’s not even a code included in the BR for that so it’s not a good sign.

Here 's the unique aspect regarding ZSJL, it wasn't one of Warner's theatrical/HBO Max simultaneous releases and its listed as a "HBO Max Original" on its banner. Likely, this is purposely to maximize viewing on HBO Max. Perhaps a Christmas digital release is in the cards?

phreakatron mentioned in the VUDU UHD thread that Paramount's "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" was now in UHD on VUDU.

The iTunes Store still shows HD in the U.S., but I expect it's only a matter of time before it's UHD, if not already upgraded in people's library.

Looks like Paramount will release the first 4 Star Trek movies on UHD on Sept. 7th:

Shame if they don't upgrade VI, which is the best of them by far IMO.

VI is my favorite of the TOS movies, though I obviously have a soft spot for IV.

I'll be holding off on the discs until they get around to offering more of the movies, but boy am I glad I purchased the Star Trek 10 movie collection on iTunes a while back, because I look forward to seeing how the first four look in UHD (I don't have the DC of II), and I'm actually most of the way through watching S3 of TOS on disc, which I should finish up this month, so pretty good timing.

Wonder if they’ll also upgrade the directors cuts?
Khan directors cut is already 4K but only via the separately purchased version, hopefully the iTunes extra will see an upgrade at some point too.

I think there's a definitive "no" on the DC of the first film. I don't think I know anything about the third or fourth film.

The kicker is that it might stop them from releasing the rest of the movies if they see this bundle doesn't sell well. Kind of a self-defeating release strategy. It's strange that they wouldn't at least bundle the 6 original crew movies.

I also bought the 1-10 bundle on iTunes when it was on sale ($20 was just too good a price) but honestly I'm not a big fan of most of them (even though I love TOS), so I'll just leave it at the iTunes versions.

Also, I'd be surprised if the 4K versions didn't show up on Paramount+ as well ...

Ran is showing 4K on 7/6 on Vudu so think we’ll get the upgrade on that. Wasn’t sure since the disc isn’t Lionsgate but happy regardless if it comes!

I know, but I figure there's enough die-hard Trekkies out there that'll still help it sell enough to do the whole series. Ones without OCD about that sort of thing.

They're probably still working on five and six, but I think it would've been best to wait and put them out at the same time. I would've bought those.

I'm facing similar issues with "Scream", but then I have to remember that IV is from a different studio, so probably won't get a box set of those.

$20 was what I paid as well. I'm not crazy about I, III, and X, but I love the rest, even V. Very happy with my purchase.

As for Paramount+, who knows! Their choice of what to offer in 4K can be strange, and no HDR on catalog titles.

With the announcement of the first four Halloween movies to be released on 4K disc by Shout Factory this fall, I'm hoping the licences include digital distribution .
