Was kinda hoping this would hit the 22.99-24.99 pre-release, but 29.99-32.99 seems to be the launch price for most.

That steel. Yikes. Spine title off centered? IMO the Creed films have had bad looking designs. I had the first and went down to the standard editions. Glad I did. The standard cover is nice.

Yeah, they’re all pretty weak. Only one I like is the UK double feature I just bought but that one has stacked discs.

That is definitely better. And to be fair, III's design is better than the first film's character cutouts and the second's giant II.

Lol at this having a separate DD 5.1 English audio track for no particular reason while Warners were so quick to dump DD 5.1 from Superman, losing that magic 70mm audio in the process. I don’t think we’ll ever know what goes through their minds when deciding these things.

You should already be familiar with WB making all their decisions based on a coin toss by now.

Thanks to Best Buys super-fast free shipping I received Creed III on the 4K Blu-ray format on May 22nd 2023 which is one day before the official release date of 5-23-2023. Nice looking steelbook release. Best Buy even placed the 4K Blu-ray in a box with air bubble packing.

Now I just have to make time to watch it. I have not seen Creed I or II yet on 4K Blu-ray. So the Creed trilogy of movies will be watched together sometime in the future.

Creed III comes with one BD-100 disc and one BD-50 disc (The Blu-ray.com database is in the process of being corrected to show this information for all variations of covers). While there are 3 different packaging styles for Creed III on the 4K Blu-ray format, all 3 different packaging styles have the exact same optical discs included. Best Buy has their exclusive steelbook cover, then Walmart also has their exclusive steelbook cover, plus there is the regular non-steelbook release with a different cover.

No, it's BD-100. There is an US BD-scan above. I also double checked before submitting those changes.

Only the 16-bit on the Dolby Atmos is a scan error. It's 24-bit.

Yes you are correct it comes with one BD-100 disc instead of one BD-66 disc (the Blu-ray.com database was showing BD-66 for this release and that is what was confusing me). I just inserted the BD-100 triple layer disc and it is showing 92.8GB of space used out of 100GB in the BD-ROM drive for my Windows desktop computer. However the Blu-ray.com database is still showing a incorrect entry of BD-66 that will hopefully be corrected in the near future. I made no comments about the audio in my original post.

True. Just saying before someone is making again changes to the database entry.

Is Target a lost cause for BDs? I stopped in and saw neither this nor Shazam 2. I would think both of these were high profile IPs, Rocky related and DC related. Checked online, not sold in stores. Do they carry ANYTHING? I might have to just pretend Target no longer exists. I don't think I have seen anything since the Jurassic Park 4Ks and I think that was about a year ago!

I scratched them off my slipcover hunt but I still check each morning for inventory. But on my end I don’t count on them anymore.

Both Walmarts showed this in stock but they couldn’t find them.

And then I'll see some stuff in Target that I would never expect to find there... like the "Flashdance" UHD! I almost did a double take. How did a Paramount catalog title make it on the shelf? And "Reservoir Dogs" UHD! Someone at Target likes Tarantino, because "Pulp Fiction" made it in the store, too.

I was surprised to see this one "Not available in stores" when I checked this morning. It wasn't mentioned in the ad, which wasn't a good sign, but it seemed like a mistake. Target used to be decent about taking in WB catalog titles, but that was before they continued to cut their shelf space. What little my Targets have left (and some have almost nothing) have plenty of free space.

Then there's Wal-Mart with a pretty nice looking exclusive that is probably at zero stores in my area. Wal-Mart is all-in with exclusives lately, they just don't bother putting them in stores.

Both of my steelbooks came in Sat, this and Shazam. I did have to go to target though and they had a few copies of each movie in 4K and Blu-ray.

Every slip I see is trashed, might have to wait for a restock or try online. I did just try Walmart and they are in nice shape but the slip is different and honestly, I don't care much for this exclusive. It is a less interesting poster...honestly, a bad one IMO. The standard is nice. The previous standards had a team dynamic.. Rocky and Creed, Rocky/Creed+Drago/Sonbon the sequel. Standard Creed III is him plus his trainers trailing behind him. Walmart just a goofy looking Photoshop of him solo after a knockdown?

Went to Wal-Mart - nothing new on the shelf. They reset the new release end cap and had the tags up along with a Shazam topper, but nothing. Not that surprising, though. Target didn't even bother resetting their new release section. No change from the previous week. The three stores in proximity to each other that sell media must have banded together since Best Buy also decided to not put a thing out on the shelf this week and also didn't even have the tags up for them. I don't know why they bother at all.

The bad looking art design doesn't inspire a purchase from me at the moment. Oddly, I almost feel like waiting for the box set once the franchise is done. Stupid, I know.

Many years ago I watched the Rocky movie series on Blu-ray, but I still have not had a chance to watch the Rocky movies on the 4K Blu-ray format. Therefore, I will watch Rocky on the 4K Blu-ray format at a future date. I did just today finish watching Creed, Creed II, and Creed III on the 4K Blu-ray format (plus the extra features that come with those movies on the standard Blu-ray discs). All three Creed movies are rated PG-13.

The first Creed movie had an estimated budget of $35-$40 million dollars with box office sells of $173.6 million dollars. Creed II had a budget of $50 million dollars with box office sells of $214.1 million dollars. Creed III had a budget of $75 million dollars with box office sells of $273.9 million dollars. Therefore all three movies were profitable. I am a big fan of Michael B. Jordon who is a talented actor and director. For all three Creed movies Sylvester Stallone was one of the producers. Sylvester Stallone was also an actor in the first two movies, however Sylvester Stallone fans missed seeing him in the third Creed movie.

I was disappointed that all three Creed movies place 100% of all the extra features on the standard BD-50 Blu-ray disc instead of the native 4K Blu-ray disc. For the first two Creed movies there was plenty of unused space on the BD-66 disc to place all the extra features on the 4K Blu-ray disc. Even the Creed III movie had plenty of space on the BD-100 disc for the studio to place the small number of extras from the enclosed BD-50 disc. So bad decision by Warner to not have any extra features on the 4K Blu-ray discs for the three Creed movies.

For the Creed III 4K Blu-ray disc a total of 92.8GB of space is used out of 100GB. The enclosed dual layer BD-50 disc a total of 34.2GB of space is used out of 50GB. All the extra features for the Creed III movie are in native 1080P using the MPEG-4/AVC codec. Also, all the extra features for Creed III are encoded with a Dolby Prologic matrix flag. The Creed III film crew can be seen wearing COVID masks for protection against COVID-19. Creed III had an interesting storyline with a fictional character that had been in jail for almost two decades, getting the opportunity to become a professional boxer if they have the skills to outperform the competition. I enjoyed all three Creed movies. Creed III has better picture quality when compared to the first two Creed movies. Creed III uses the HEVC codec at very high bit rates at around 108Mbps for some scenes in the movie thanks to the BD-100 disc that offers plenty of space. The first two Creed movies are lower video bit rates for HEVC codec. On my year 2016 OPPO UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player the triple layer BD-100 Creed III disc played back perfectly fine even while doing several reverse scans (flawless playback for the BD-100 disc). Because of limitations of my display and A/V receiver the native 4K Dolby Vision HDR Blu-ray disc with lossless 13.1 Dolby Atmos was downscaled to 1080P SDR with 7.1 Dolby TrueHD core audio.
