Madden for the PS3 was purely garbage! The quarterback vision is a joke and the 30 FPS BS didn't help it either. I just hope EA will do the franchise some good and also bring back Madden as a commentor. I hate the fact that the PS2 had Madden as the commentor and the PS3 has a crappy announcer.

As crappy as the graphics looked in comparison to '06 and '07, X and O models might be where they're heading. Well... maybe '09 will be Atari stick figures, and they're just saving the X's and O's for Madden 2010.

If you had X's & O's on the screen, you wouldn't need a 120 Frame rate.

The reason Madden runs better with a high frame rate is because of the amount of variables on the screen. Remove them and there's no need for the higher rate.

Your first two were good though.

Hopefully EA listens to you Kev.

Let's see what they do. The Madden09 product will tell all of Madden nation how smart EA truly is. Do they care what their fans say? Do they care what we want? Are their ego's too big to listen to our voice's? We are the ones who buy the game. They should listen to what we want, right?

Either way, EA needs to go back to basics with Madden. They were on a good streak there for a while. When they started going outside the context of "Football", they lost it.

Ya wanna add new plays, fine. Ya wanna add new hot routes and player movements, fine. But when they started Changing "Football" and the roots of football, Not fine.

I never thought of it like that. You hit it right on the nose! It's when they added to "the game of Football" that messed it up. Football doesn't need tweaking. Adding plays and hot routes and adding animations are fine, like you said. When you try to make the game of football better, it ruins everything because football is already perfect.

We run the Madden Club in Midtown every winter. If 2009 isn't a good football game, we're not doing it anymore.

Get rid of the garbage. QB vision and weapons. Work on the look and feel every year. That's all Madden ever needed.

The new features don't bother me, but I'm not a hardcore Madden player, more into FPS games. Its obvious that most posters here hate the new features. The best thing IMO would be a place in the options where you could disable which new features you dislike. Or maybe they could have an updated "Madden Classic" mode which left out all the features you guys hate.

Couldn't have said it better myself. It really is that simple. Just IMPROVE (not scale back) on the graphics, and IMPROVE on the feel of the game not give us dumb gimmick features every year. Every year the graphics should look better, the controls should feel tighter, the animations should be more solid, and there should be less glitches. Isn't that what we all really want?

You guys hit it right on the head. The problem is, EA Tiburon's producer David Ortiz is a complete moron. Madden 08 is so bad that it makes me wonder if this guy has ever seen a real NFL Football game. David Ortiz is no longer heading the Madden Development Team. He left EA, he was asked to leave, what ever. Who cares, as long as he's gone we might get a good madden now.

Phil Frazier, is now heading the Madden team. Let's hope they get back to footbal and not the crazy arcade-like features that have dumbed down madden for the past 3 years.

Let's not forget, Madden08 is the most traded-in game in Electronic Boutique/GameStop history. It's touts that title for a reason. It sucks!

Yes. David Ortiz is a blithering idiot. His ideas ruined the Madden franchise. I'm glad he is gone.

I'm not so sure Phil Frazier is any better though. We will see if he can fix Madden in 09.

I say he has a 50/50 shot. If he listens to Madden Nation and reads this thread he might have a chance.
