Thanks again.
ps3 is doing the decoding for you. Basically the ps3 is opening up the dts master audio package if you will before the receiver gets it. Your receiver is getting it as PCM because that is what the ps3 is giving it.

if you ever think you may get another blu ray player that bitstreams i would make sure the receivers dsp is updated so youll never have to worry or think about the bitstream bomb again. im using a ps3 for now myself but updated just in case it slipped my mind when i get a stand alone.

That's a good idea. I did manage to scare the shit out of myself after doing the sound setup. I had the PS3 on, and I'm looking at the screen wondering why no sound is playing. Then I realized I hadn't change the PS3 outputs to HDMI and linear PCM. So I change them and the sound blares out of my speakers scaring me to death. I had the menu on the Iron Man demo and it was pretty loud. Luckily I turned the volume down quick so I didn't damage the speakers.
So far I have run through a bunch of my Fox titles and the sound is so much better. Now I realize what everyone was talking about.

thats because you are bitstreaming and the receiver is doing the deconding. I hope you updated your dsp before you get the boom.
