They should make Clive Barker's "The Hills, the cities" a movie out of his Book of Blood series....

Hah! I am re-reading that book right now and was going to make the same suggestion.

I’ve haven’t read these books in years, but I remember them being pretty good.

Timothy Zahn’s Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy
(Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, & The Last Command)

I doubt we would see it happen, though George Lucas would probably refuse to let them make it or he would get involve and mess it up.

More movies from the Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian. "Master and Commander" was great but it barely scratched the surface.

I read a book back when I was in high school. That I recall it was called," Dirty White Boys", it was written by Stephen Hunter I think. This book was pretty violent and believe it would do well as a movie.

Anything by Harry Turtledove would make an awesome movie. I'd also love to see "Island in the Sea of Time" by S.M. Stirling made into a movie (as well as the subsequent books).

Another one I'd like to see is "Footfall" by Larry Niven. Come on, invading space elephants...it's got box office gold written all over it.

With the popularity of the general story content in shows like "24" they'd be able to make a mint off Flynn's series.
I agree Flynn's stuff would make great movies, but I don't see it happening. I don't think Hollywood has it the nerve or the interest to make those movies without doing what they did to Clancy's Sum of All Fears.

Wheel of Time Series - Robert Jordan
Riftwar Saga - Raymond E. Fiest

Sword of Truth Series - Terry Goodkind
-They are making this into a TV mini-series (22 episodes) coming this fall on ABC! Its directed by Sam Raimi!
-I'll see how well they do with it being a TV miniseries before I officially think it'd be better as a feature length movie.

They made a film many years ago in black & white with E. Flynn i think. But its time for a new adaptation.
Ditto on the Sea Wolf.
I would add Frank Norris' McTeague. If you haven't read this book, you should.
I would also add Theodore Dreiser's Sister Carrie.
And I am hoping for a remake of The Great Gatsby.

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause.

For anyone who makes the claim that it has already been done, I'll take you to the local library and push the entire werewolf/fantasy section on you.

Anything by Matthew Reilly, in particular:

The Temple
Ice Station
Area 7
Scarecrow

The Contest would be great too.

They would probably have to be directed by Michael Bay though as they are over the top action adventures.

They are certainly over-the-top... I generally consider his books the "summer blockbusters" of the novel world. Cool stuff though.

Of these, I would think "The Temple" and "Contest" would translate best.

Also, of Dan Brown's books, I'd kind of like to see "Deception Point" on IMAX.

The Gates of Fire, a much more realistic depiction of the battle of the 300 Spartans, and a much better and more intriguing story than 300 IMO.

I would love to see Clive Barker's Weaveworld made into a trilogy of movies. There's no way they could cram that book into one movie.

I'd welcome all eight books in Robert Rankin's "Brentford Trilogy" and Iain Banks' "The Wasp Factory".

There's a couple I've read that are supposedly being made, but I haven't heard much from them in awhile. The Rum Diary by Hunter S Thompson and House by Ted Dekker and Frank Perretti. I'd be up for any Dekker or Peretti book as long as a good director was on board, because Hangman's Curse was pitiful. Granted that book probably wasn't the most movie friendly to begin with, but I think House would be perfect.
