Thank you....I can honestly say, I somewhat understand the frustration and stress many immigrants go through when trying to do this legally. Its not as easy as I thought it would be. I will definitely help other immigrants with this if I can.

I am thinking of starting this process soon too, been living&working in the US for now 5 years, just procrastinating on that (and with the cost hehe).

How long was the whole process from the moment you petitionned ?

Also, the civics test kinda scares me, how hard was it ?

I strongly recommend that you start ASAP. Prices have been rising every year. It used to cost about $100-$200 for one of the applications, but the prise rose to $550.

It took me a little over 3 years; maybe its because of my name and country? lol But I heard it's been far worse for others.

The civics test is not hard at all. Just understand basic American government and history. Also, know your state senators, mayors, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

LOL....had to watch that movie in health class. Very disturbing and caused me to boycott McDonalds for a few years. I only eat there once every month or so.

Wait, you asked the other students how many senators there are and they didn't know? You are in school or was that the class to study for the citizenship test? The reason I asked that question was because I was helping a guy from work study for the test and that was the first question on the practice test.

It was in school; ironically in US Government lol

There are many isolated people in this country, which surprised me. I assumed they would know the basics of how the government functioned. I never took a class to study for the citizenship, just from what I learned.

I was actually thinking about that and it is pretty scary that they are tracking everyone nowadays. I just hope people stand up to this and not allow those laws to be passed.
