How many movies did you watch in 2007?

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm not rebuying the exact same BD for a PIP track.

Re release of 300 already! Is there no end to the greed of these studios? I am that sick of old titles and only the odd current blockbuster been released that I have stopped buying anymore Bluray. Next thing they will be bringing out the " Lazer Disc Special one time release package" Wowww, triple dipping at the extreme. I am sick of been taken for a fool!!!

Love 300 but will not double dip for a few more features. I'm happy with the Blu-ray edition I got and it's still one of my favorite ones to play.

For those grain haters it will certainly show them that the grain was intentional as the PIP shows an unbelievably clear pic before the grain was added intentionally.
I've been saying for months that I never understood the adding of the grain to 300. Clearly it was added as I saw the IMAX version in the theater and I can tell you that if the IMAX print had had grain in it, I definately would have been able to see it, which I didn't.

I'm not a grain hater per se. And if the original print of a given movie really does contain film based grain, so be it. I can accept that as an authentic part of the original technology of the film. I just don't get adding it as some sort of 'artistic' statement.

300 definite need to remaster, the first one has fall off short in video transfer, has far too many grain, i know WB can do it, if the put heart on it, look at some of greater transfer WB has Troy, I am Legend, they can do better. and 300 is no brainer.

It's either/or for me. The original Blu-ray edition of 300 is good enough without having to double dip just for the picture-in-picture!

Dude! You do know that was on purpose, right?

It does bring up a scary thought, though. What if WB DNR'ed "300" for the masses?

I feel like the odd one out that is super excited to be able to get 300 with the PiP and be able to watch how it was made. Of course I'll wait until it goes on sale for around $15, and not buy it full price.

I'd like to have the PiP for "300" as it's one film where I find the PiP feature interesting... BUT not enough that I'd want to go rush out and buy it.

However, if given a new HIGHER bitrate encode (while still leaving the grain untouched by DNR), and in a Blu case (not one of those dang "coffee book" releases), I might VERY well be interested in picking it up around the first of the year.

300 fans will be pleased.. .I'm not one of them but I will buy ASAP Casablanca and FORBIDDEN PLANET as soon as they are released on Blu Ray. Forbidden Planet was one of the HD only titles I forgot about .. thanks for those who mentioned it in this thread. It will be a worthy purchase.
