Yeah, they are going back to the roots of Tomb Raider and they though Jolie was too old. Even still, I'd like to see the how she got to be a tomb raider.

I liked the first 2 movies as well, too bad they didn't continue them. At least we'll get something in the next few years...

This isn't a bad idea either. After seeing Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Doomsday I think she could do pretty well job with the role.

I like them as well, but if the truth be told, I'm getting pretty tired of Angelina Jolie. I always thought she was overrated.

she is over rated, but she's also slowed down somewhat i think. maybe get an unkown actress who has done acting & in short has experience in front of a camera. unlike Megan Fox's replacement for "Transformes 3" who has NEVER been in front of a camera before other than walking around in underwear.

well pretty much yes, i was randomly reading through old threads & this one
to me read like a good one to revive. it didn't at 1st occur to me that it was form last year. so why not ya know?

& anyways he he back to the topic reason i said get an unknown is really cause
it's always nice to give someone who hasn't made a name for them self
a chance at fame. but who can act. a LOT of today's talent is waay over rated

so that's why i say get someone new. i've never been a HUGE fan of "Tomb Raider' but i did enjoy the 2nd film. i haven't seen the 1st one all the way through yet.

i don't mind "Megan Fox" she's NOT that bad of an actress. she's a decent one. also over-rated. i really dunno who i'd pick if it was someone famous to do the role. to be quite honest.

Rumor has it that Olivia Wilde is in the running to play Laura in the reboot. Also has plans to make the movie more serious and darker then the previous one's if the source is to be correct.

Interesting. I would like to see a well crafted Tomb Raider movie/series. Olivia Wilde is only a little older than Jolie was when she started the series and she looks that part at least as much.

So? It's not like the previous movies were so great, that the reboot can't be better. I'd love to see a game movie that's actually good. So far, that hasn't happened.

Silent Hill was faithful in many ways. Hitman also had some parts that felt like the game though overall it did not. And I'm not sure if you count animation but the Dead Space movies where good. But yeah overall I will agree there has never truly been an amazing video game movie but I also doubt thete ever will be. Too many directors want to stray away from the games martial( Uncharted) that they never feel like the game.

The game series is getting rebooted, and it actually wouldn't be a bad thing for the movie series to get rebooted as well. While I didn't think they were horrible and I think I liked the second one better than the first, they were considered to be and the series never reached the full potential it could have.

Angelina Jolie was perfect for the role, but they need a replacement and Olivia Wilde looks like a pretty good one if she ends up in the role (especially from those pictures).

It looks like GK Films have bought the movie rights and plans to get the reboot in theaters in 2013. I really hope it turns out well and can't wait for casting news on who will play Laura.

Yeah if it were trying to bomb at the box office.

Not a fan of her acting, but I wouldn't be surprised if they go after Megan Fox.
