I really hope this set is priced reasonably. I also hope part 3 has the 3-d version on it.

i will look for a good deal on this before i buy, i saw the new one last night too, which was really good, it wasnt a lame ass horror movie that can only rely on stuff jumping out at you from the shadows and a loud music cue for scares, it was actually well written, looking forward to seeing how this turns out on blu ray

I saw the new one last night, and also was "impressed" at how it somehow had a "script"! it had nothing of a remake, im so sure the title is just a hook to start with a new series of Friday The 13th sequels...

I hated the Mrs. Voorhees they used, wanting to copy our Betsy Palmer!

I also seen the new one last night ad agree it didnt seem like a remake at all.
I was hoping for a Texas Chainsaw Massacre style remake the director did a awesome job on that one but seems to have lost it on Friday the 13th.

I really liked the first 3 movies the best out of the series, and i was about to buy the first one on blu the other day good thing i didnt ill just have to wait for the boxset.

oh I'll defenitly be waiting until it hits a good price too haha.

I wonder if they will do two movies per BD50 ... or 8 BD25s though. With the rather short length of the movies, I think 4 BD50s would be doable. Although it would be nice if Paramount/New Line could get a deal to add all of them into one big set ..... since the new one is Paramount/New Line (as stated in credits).

They fight to much about the profit sharing. It's like Warner and New Line bring out both the theatrical and directors cut of Natural Born Killers in one.

Not going to happen.

Already have part 1 so I only want 3-4 on Blu. But again great news. I cant understand why they released 2 and 3 on regular dvd when they should have released them on Blu as well. Still scratching my head over this one.

I'll probably pick this up. More of a Freddy fan myself, though.

This set also makes it a bit easier to pretend Jason X never happened.

Pretty sure that the Friday the 13th BD versions will be released on the same date as the 2009 remake.

These movies are definately classics though. better than that travesty that Michael Bay produced.

No triple dipping for me. I already have the entire series on individual DVD and the box set. I hope they sell these individually because I would only be willing to buy 2, 3 and 4.

I think it's funny when people rip on this new "remake" considering the oirginal Friday the 13th films were never really that good to begin with - just dumb, fun, entertainment. Unlike it's well-made and more original contemporaries (Texas Chinsaw, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser, etc.) if any film deserved a decent remake/ reimagining, it was Friday the 13th. The 1980 original was far from Citizen Kane, or even the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and aside from it's fantastic gore effects, it is extremely slow-paced, and nothing exceptional, being little more than Halloween set in the woods, with elements from Psycho thrown in and a lower budget.

The haters of the 2009 film must have never seen Jason: Takes Manhattan, Goes to Hell, or X!

That being said, between the crappy quality of my original F13 VHS tape, the new movie, and watching HIS NAME WAS JASON, I am definitely looking forward to the BD box set.
