For your needs, I say stick with the reprint you have but as mentioned, if you want to rid itself of the ripples, remove it from the frame, and take it to a framer to have drymounted onto foam board, that will take care of that issue and you won't be into it that much at all. |

Also comparing a Black Friday deal on a TV to an original movie poster isn't really a fair assessment. It sounds like you really aren't a collector per say but you enjoy the artwork. I have zero problems with that because not everyone wants to shell out the money for originals, when they just like the artwork. So I would defiantly recommend sticking to the reprints, if you are happy with the overall quality and the price is low, by all means, that is the way to go.

First thing I did was move it from the flimsy DMR tube to wrapping the poster in acid free paper and putting in a Yazoo tube.

I have room for 6 movie posters (frames are for 27x41) on the wall on the way to my HT. Just bought "Arson, Inc('49), Rookie Fireman('50) and The Night the World Exploded('57)."
The ones I have on the walls are "Rookie Fireman, The Brain from Planet Arous, The Mysterians, The Time Travelers, On the Threshold of Space and 4 Benton posters: 20 Million Miles to Earth, It Came from Beneath the Sea, Earth vs the Flying Saucers and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (taking up the space of one poster). I have around 70 originals (sci-fi/horror/comedy) and a few new ones. I change them out about every 4 months. Since the new ones are 27x40, there is a white strip on the top and bottom of the frame, which looks out of place, so I don't put them up that often. I'm mostly into the older ones, but boy, have they gone up in price. The newer ones are brand new and the older ones conditions range from good to almost new. I will try to get a pic and post it. That movie poster 5 years from now will be worth $150 or more, whereas that TV will be at the Salvation Army for $10. |

![]() and it'll only be worth $150+ if someone's willing to fork over that kind of money. you can put a price on anything.....but finding someone to pay that price is the challenge. personally i'd rather sink that $150 from a single poster into HT equipment, blurays, or stuff needed to finish the bar i'm building......but to each their own i guess. ![]() |

i have a poster that cost $10 originally, i spent the money on a good sturdy frame for it along w/the other posters i have in my basement.......i wanted to fix a problem that bothered me......and i got the answer i was looking for. then it sparked a debate about the amount of money i choose to spend on decoration for my basement. ![]() |

Hey, Rodimus Prime - (if only because I don't know your actual name, tilalr1)
Did you build your own lightbox or purchase it? I'm going to go a similar route with mine in the upcoming month but haven't decided to DIY it or buy one of those $350 ones that were linked on here earlier. |

I bought one off ebay a decade ago. It was custom made, and is alright. For what you get today its an amazing deal. They are much easier than mine is to load a new poster. They hang like a picture, it uses LED tech and more energy efficient and because of this its much thinner.
But you can also build your own pretty easily now. Which is another option if you have the time and some basic skill. |
