MVD Rewind Collection Discussion Thread

This is probably a losing battle, but I was gifted LIONHEART for my birthday at the beginning of August, right as the disc replacement issues were happening and being resolved/rolled out. I know my friends got it for me via Amazon, but is there any way I can get the corrected replacement disc(s) without bothering my friends about it? I only found out about the audio problem upon receiving it as a gift and now I fear I'm left without a way to replace the audio issues....

Totally get that I may be SOL, but thought I would check in....

Both of them are "warts and all" transfers. They look great, but there is no clean up whatsoever. Scratches, hairs, you name it will show up from time to time on both releases. Other than that (this is not something that has deterred me from these releases. I actually like the "warts and all" approach on certain releases) these are pretty decent releases that I think fans will like.

I suggest that you contact them by email rather than waiting for MVD Guy on this forum. (He will probably give you the same advice than mine)

Not the only goof...opening scene is also messed up (which makes me think that no one attempted to watch the film). Blu-ray looks fine

Just got Shadowbuilder. Great disc, decent movie, I liked it. PQ was good.
Whats up with the Spanish subtitles only though? That seemed odd.

Some of my favorite movie memories are from Erol's, bringing home their huge cushioned VHS cases with movie art on the take-home case. Movie art has been something special to me since those early-mid '80s rentals. Seeing the Bright Lights Big City slip just blew my mind.

But I haven't purchased my first MVD Rewind Collection blu-rays yet (just started "collecting" if you know what I mean), and I'm curious if I purchase these from Amazon or wherever, are they going to come with slipcovers? Some of my Vestron blu's came without slips, and that made me more sad than I care to add...

Now that Screen Media/FilmRise has squired the Millennium Films/NuImage back catalog, and MVD has had dealings with Screen Media, what are the possibilities of licensing some titles from them?

They have a lot of B titles goodies starring Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren and Wesley Snipes.

Also lots of NuImage produced for the ScyFy channel horror films.

...and please if you do, don't make them double features!

Oh yeah, Nemesis (1992) is being released on Dec 11,2018!!


I hope that the sequels are just extras and not being billed as a collection set. I want Nemesis to be stand alone.

Once upon a time Syfy channel used to air some decent low budget horror movies. I wouldn't mind seeing MVD doing more Abonimable type releases in the future if rights issues can be worked out i.e.

Dead Scared/The Hazing (2004)
Bloodsuckers/Vampire Wars (2005)
The Beast of Bray Road (2005)
Big Bad Wolf (2006)
Brain Dead (2007)

As for Nu Image, I believe they have the rights to the excellent Scott Adkins movies Undisputed 2 & 3. The sequel has never been released on bluray in the states and part 3 seems to be out of print. I'm also in for more Van Damme and Lundgren B movie greatness.

I'm loving the fruits of the MVD/Imperial Entertainment deal so far. I wonder if there is any chance of MVD striking a deal for some of the old PM Entertainment and Shapiro-Glickenhaus Entertainment titles?
