I'll be posting in the 2010 thread but I doubt it will be as big as 2009 for me.. pretty happy with everything right now.. I'll post all my updates in that new thread but won't do the poll til the end of the year unless we can figure out a way to update it since my 2009 is now in a new bracket from when I originally entered it.

I'm gonna go through my 09 receipts and try to get the the grand total with taxes in. I wonder if my estimate will be close or way under

The sub-$5,000 category needed expansion desperately from what I've been witness to during the course of the year in various threads.

I think the new categories will also give more definition to those in the upper spectrum. It's not perfect, but I like the overall balance.

As mentioned previously, I am also opening up the voting so everyone can see.

My legacy, eh? LOL! Well, I've enjoyed doing it the last 2 years, and I hope everyone likes the intent behind it. I also hope that part of my legacy is the love I have for vinyl, despite the fact I don't have a truly high-end source.

I like what you said about not voting right away. If one knows they'll be making upgrades, but aren't sure yet, then please delay your vote. The system won't allow us to change our votes, so think about that before you do.

Well I calculated my Grand total and my guess was around 10k so I was pretty close. Even with the US prices exchanged with the Canadian dollar at it's lowest rate in 09 I stayed under the 10k mark(CDN).

09 was a pretty big year for new gear... got a complete 7.1 speaker set with a new power conditioner, receiver, amp, cables, BD/SACD player and room treatments. All these prices include the taxes and shipping charges.
