I ask because I know Walmart stores refuse returns of physical media if it's opened, but I am not sure about Target.

Thanks in advance!
Some stores may have that policy, but not all. I've returned opened BDs to several local walmarts without any fuss. In fact, I've never had to return a sealed one to walmart. Any walmart needing to implement such an unfriendly, if not illegal policy by not accepting defective returns must get a lot of customers buying movies just to either steal the digital voucher or use it as a substitute for renting the disc now that redbox is gone.

Default Target sending damaged items straight from their warehouse...

I posted this in the steelbook and UHD threads, but I will post it here too since it's relevant to Target and how they sent one of my orders.

My Kingdom of Heaven steelbook from Target arrived like this despite being sent in a pristine cardboard box with 3 other items...

What makes this even worse is that the box itself was completely fine and showed no signs of being crushed or anything. The air pillows were completely fine too. And yet, the Kingdom of Heaven steelbook in the box was completely crushed/squished. This means it was NOT damaged in transit but was already destroyed when the person packing my order placed it in the box.

I am absolutely speechless at how ANYONE at the warehouse could hold this obviously damaged item in their hands, think this is acceptable to send to a customer, and then proceed to place it in the box to send my way...

They probably figured well it's the movie that matters and not the case. But yeah don't know how anyone could think that was suitable to send out

I haven't opened it, but it sounds like there are pieces of plastic rattling inside.

For all I know, even the actual discs themselves might be broken or cracked.

It's crazy! haha

The worker is just packing and packing and packing and just trying to get through the day. Probably a thankless job. The steelbook was probably a return from a damaged shipment but did not get put to the returns pile.

The worker didn't want to get into a hassle and ask a superior on what to do with the damaged steelbook. It was easier to just pack it, finish the job and let the customer deal with the problem.

That's what I think happened. Not worth opening a can of worms and talking to the boss, just pass the problem on.

It was also someone's fault for putting the damaged item back into regular inventory.

In these low level jobs many of them really don't give a sh!t and I can't really blame them.

I doubt it was a return. It hasn't even been a week since its release. And he probably got a shipping notice days ago. Be hard for something to be shipped out and returned and then shipped out again in less then a week.

On the bright side, if you try to return it via the website or app and report it as damaged there’s a decent chance you’ll get an automatic refund w/o having to send it back. So i the net could be a free movie.

Got another delay approval for the Masters of the Universe steelbook. Considering how plentiful this title is almost everywhere else, I don't think it's ever happening at Target.

Glad I canceled mine after the first delay. Ended up just getting it at Amazon.

Sorry, that really blows. I had a similar experience at BBY back when they sold movies. I ordered online for an in-store pickup. The steel looked like your photo. The lady handed it to me and I thought she was joking at first until I realized oh no no, she was serious. So I got a refund, but the steel was sold out at that point. I figured ordering for an in store pickup I'd be safe; nope. A few days later I was at the store looking in the movies section, there on the shelf sat the fu$$ed up steel.
On a positive side, the word on the street is that DIS ordered a second run on this steel so you should still be able to get it.

I got $15 off $150 or more. That additional 10% off will help pull the discount down almost to B2G1 levels

Now, the question is, Do I risk a Target pre-order for Sleepaway Camp II and III? Hmm...

Was your offer spend $150 and get a $15 reward or get $15 off a $150 purchase? Different things.

It's $15 in rewards, but I do so much household shopping at Target anyway, I think of (rationalize? ) it has 10% off if I come close enough to the $150 mark.

That's a good point though--do the items have to ship before the offer ends in order to qualify? If so, I'll probably ditch the pre-order idea.

Yes the items have to ship for them to qualify for the reward. Which kinda bums me out too as I mostly want preorder items.

I got $10 reward for an $80 purchase. I have a cart ready for the B1G1 sale that would come to around $50 after the discount kicks in, need to decide if I want to chase that $10 and add more movies.
