Had it happened the way you wanted, that box set would easily be over 100 bucks...and how many copies would that price tag sell???

As sad as it is, Warner is thinking about the bottom line...money. They know they won't sell a ton, so why invest so much money into it???

Again, according to your original post, you held the item for 30 days. Past Amazon's 'return window'. If you learn anything from this experience, I would hope you learn to thoroughly examine your items upon arrival.

Dude, don't even try arguing with that guy. Guy just complains 24-7 about every single thing that if Friday the 13th and how each product is never good enough for him.

Pretty soon we shall have 180 pages in this thread of him complaining about the glue the book do or didn't use!!!

I think the only new one in the last update, from the actual films, was Julie Michaels, who was the FBI agent that set Jason up in Hell.

The list of the actual Doc credits looks longer too...but those people aren't Friday alums per say.

It was honestly pretty stupid of me to not think "25-30" would've meant around 10 people behind the actual documentary in question, but that totally failed to cross my mind when it was first announced and I pre-ordered it. Sorry to say that even if I like the documentary a bunch I wouldn't have cared about those sigs much. Farrands, Hutson, and Bracke, sure. Beyond that, meh.

I'll inevitably get the boxset for Christmas from someone as everyone knows I'm a Friday fanatic, but I won't be buying it myself, either (although having Crystal Lake Memories included would make it a day one purchase for me). I already own the first 2 (by far the best of the series, followed by 4 and 6) on Blu and the only real reason I could justify the expense is if part 3 was FINALLY in true 3D, but it isn't.

Even if they don't necessarily pay the participants, they pay for their plane tickets, or they pay for the trip to go and interview the participants(which would be the ones not interviewed in front of greenscreen). For Never Sleep Again, they even went to Hong Kong to interview Ronny Yu and the UK to interview Stephen Hopkins.

As you can imagine, money is burnt up fast.

While I agree getting people from the doc isn't as cool as getting more sigs from people from the movies, if you go to a convention and try to get even 15 of these sigs, you're looking at a helluva lot more than an extra $12. I'd totally be satisfied spending that amount for all that's included in that particular set. Too bad I missed the boat on that one, but I did pre-order from CLM, so I'm covered on the extra disc version. Although it'd be nice of them to shoot me an email confirming purchase, considering they've taken my money. I'm sure there'll be an email confirming shipping (at least there better be one). Is it supposed to arrive on the 13th or ship on the 13th? I hope arrive!

I want to order from CLM, to get the bonus disc, but I need English subtitles. I know the main documentary has it, but does the bonus disc have subtitles? If not then I might as well order from amazon. Anyone have any concrete info on that? I really want the bonus disc.

Then why is it so ridiculously expensive? I've gotten plenty of sets FULL of extras for a LOT less. And you said it above, it's a catalog release. It should be less than $50 as it is (the individual movies -- the best of the series -- have been on sale multiple times for like $6; even at that price the set would be $72) or they should put a bunch of new extras in, give the true 3D version of part 3 and then charge their outrageous $100 price.

Apparently you feel it's acceptable for an expensive book like that to literally fall apart upon it's first day of reading. You're stuck on Amazon. As I said, I put much more of the blame on the manufacturer, who should have replaced the book as a token of good faith for an unhappy customer. I was not happy with Amazon's decision, but I did understand it, as it was past 30 days. But the manufacturer not standing behind their own product is totally unacceptable.

If you think it's okay, whatever. If it was your book I'm sure you would have fired off a letter to the book manufacturer too. As was mentioned previously, the book was inspected - and it appeared new and in perfect condition - obviously the glue was not applied correctly, and that only became apparent after reading the book for a few hours.

Whatever. Not worth arguing about. It's sitting on my shelf with a to of loose pages and I'm stuck with it.

Absolutely. Good point. Many people see clips on youtube and later purchase the item. I have done that myself, absolutely. In this case, I want this on my shelf - lousy youtube quality would never do. But youtube clips can absolutely lead to sales.

Good point there. I used to rent Netflix discs to see sometimes if the extras were good enough to buy and put on my shelf, but once I started figuring out about all their "rental only" discs with no extras, I started turning exclusively to online reviews and forums to learn about the extras, as I could no longer rely on the Netflix discs for an accurate preview of what the retail disc would be.

Dude, you've done nothing but cause chaos and arguments in that thread, and many have tried putting you in your place over there. All you do is argue over there with anybody who doesn't think that set is the best thing since Jason was originally conceived by Paramount. I've contributed a lot to the discussion over there, and I, like many, think it's a piss-poor set. But you get personally offended over there any time somebody voices their concerns over the set.

I see you continue to spread your joy around. You've got a real attitude in these threads, and others have said so as well. You specifically attack me often, when I just try to ignore you.

I would LOVE to know which box sets (with 12 movies) you've gotten for less than 80 bucks.

Of course I'm "stuck" on Amazon, because that were all my purchased(especially in this case) begin & end. Had I gotten the same book, opened it and found it to be faulty I would've returned it right away. If the replacement would've been in the same condition I would return that one as well. I would've kept doing so until one of two things happened:
1) I got a product I was happy with
2) I cancelled the order

No matter what the outcome, the bottom line is I wouldn't have been stuck with a defective product. Which is why some of the blame falls back on you the buyer, for not doing due diligence...granted special circumstances were involved.

But yep, not worth the debate.
