Yeah, this isn't so much a knock on The Stand but praise for IT: As great as The Stand is, it can feel like a chore at times but IT just flies by. I mean, I guess maybe it meanders a little here and there (and I'm still not a huge fan of the way it ends) but it never gets tedious.

For me, it depends on which version of The Stand i'm reading. The version published in 1978 is shorter and flows much better due to the abridgment. The uncut novel from the nineties is the one I dislike not only for being incredibly drawn out with tons of filler, but also because King made subsequent revisions to the story.

Salem's Lot is fantastic, that ain't nostalgia dude it pisses all over the Tobe Hooper miniseries, and the Tobe Hooper miniseries is damn good! IT has always been my personal favourite King novel, but I've always felt it's kinda unadaptable in any kind of satisfying way. Too long, too many pages of characters thinking. Maybe this new film can finally change my mind (providing it does well and a sequel emerges). Always been a fan of old TV series but it never really captured the epic scope of the novel.

lol, it's okay. ADHD isn't all bad. You just think outside the box than most people, due to the chemicals in your brain working differently. But yeah, I do sometimes try out audio books, like I did with the Hannibal Lecter novels. It's not that I can't read. I can read very well. It's just that I get distracted so easily, which makes it harder for me to sit around in one place quietly for a certain amount of time. But with the help of audio books, my focus on the story becomes stronger. So yeah.

I have been on board since I heard they were remaking It. Now after seeing the trailer I'm super excited! I hope they don't make us wait more than a year after this release for part 2.

Yeah, it could be a pain in the ass sometimes. But at the same time, I wouldn't want to change it. It's what makes me me, you know. I'm like the black sheep of my family and friends, and I kinda like it that way. It's like an awakening in someway.

Going through school sucked, that was back when it was just starting to be defined AND it was something girls supposedly didn't get.

I never made it the whole way through IT when I tried to read it, I remember writing the page I left off inside the library book jacket because I had to return it. But I probably would have been able to finish it if I had an ebook... That's actually how I finish a lot of fanfictions. I have to have about four or five browser tabs open at once, because I get so distracted.

Absolutely! This new version, to me at least, seems to be aiming for an evil look, whereas the novel and TV version (outside of the teeth) portrayed his look as more, I dunno, "child-friendly". It was a ploy to lure children his way, but this version just seems to be going for a shocking look that screams Wyyked-Twizted-Juggalo-Bong.

As someone who loves to read I'm so thankful I don't have ADHD. What do you mean by "something girls supposedly didn't get"?

It happened with ADHD and Aspergers a lot (when it was an independent diagnosis), girls were underdiagnosed because they were primarily "male" diseases. Girls were just bouncy or shy or whatever other excuse. Doctors have gotten better.
