It is an original double sided theatrical poster. And it hangs above my television.

But I don't have a media room or home theater. I moved in with my parents because they lost their jobs and I want to help them out. Makes no sense for me to pay my rent and their rent when they had an empty room. But I still feel like a loser for living with my parents.

Nah, you're never a loser for living at your folks on your own terms... a theatre room or dedicated space will come one day if you want it to, all in good time, in the meantime enjoy the poster, it's a sharp one

What did they end up running you? I take it you got the glow-in-the-dark IM2 variant, correct? When/if you frame, make sure the framer does not dry mount the poster, you want it loose between the glass and the backing of the frame. If they dry mount it to foam board, consider the prints/posters worthless so make sure to stress that up front. Also I recommend acid-free backing and matte board if you decide to matte. Acid-free backing will appear coarse to the touch, acidic backing board is smooth and a tad shiny.

Don't think of yourself as a loser, you are helping out your folks and that is to be commended, not condoned. Everyone should help out their parents in a time of need, they would have helped you out I am sure as well.

I fail to see how that makes you a loser. Think about how many years they took care of you. You owe them at least that, and then a few more years for being a pain in the you know what teenager. =)

Edit: Reprints are 24x36 (usually) right?

Default Sucker Punch "Final" Style

Here is what should be the final style for "Sucker Punch" and should be hitting theaters quite soon since the film is less than a month away. As everyone will notice, it is the same artwork as found on the advance style, but with the credits added. This is often the case for some posters, two styles, same artwork.

Now that I think I have the hang of posting images of posters here in a posting, a few people have asked me to post the image of the Iron Man 2 Alamo Drafthouse "Metal" variant poster. Limited to only 65 etched signed and numbered by the artist, printed on an actual sheet of metal. The paints are the the type you found used for road construction signs so quite durable. The reds on the poster are actually more of a deep red, they don't appear so in the image. It is 24 x 36 inches in size.

These were only available in Austin Texas at the grand re-opening of the store inside the Alamo theater called Mondo in early June of 2010. There was a line out the door I was told of people wanting to get one, and of the 65, they only had about 27 of them for sale. This is an image of the one in my collection. Mondo has only produced four metal variant posters, the first was for Robocop (same artist), the second was for Terminator 2, the third was for Monsters, and the fourth being this Iron Man 2 style.

There was a time when reprints were 24x36 inches, and in many regards, yes they are that size when you see posters being sold at Walmart, Target, mall stores, etc. Those are licensed reprints for those who want to tack something to their walls. Dealers used to sell reprints in 26x39 inch sizes, but then there are dealers such as MovieGoods/MoviePosterShop/PopcultureGraphics who sell reprints in the same size as originals which is 27x40 inches. The quality is quite poor, wording is fuzzy on the posters, etc. Collectors, unfortunately, have to stay on their toes so they don't get duped into buying a reprint/counterfeit thinking it is an original.

Some here will know what I mean when I say this, but I could spend a good solid week talking about this subject.

Yes, the image you provided SNSGUY is of the "wilding" style for Dark Knight. They were only printed single-sided, and were not displayed in theaters. The 2009 re-release style is not known as a "Oscar Wilding" style though, it is referred to as the 2009 re-release style, but it did feature the same exact artwork, with the credits added to the poster at the bottom, a movie critic review at the top, and January 23 at the bottom. Below you will find an image of it.

That's all mine is, I got it at the mall for like $5. =)... I really don't care enough to dropping big dough on an original, maybe if it was for Star Wars or something .. Anyway, thanks for the info.

You are correct it is the glow-in-the-dark variant, not the metal one. Thanks for the advice on the framing I will bring them up when I speak with the framer. Though I'm not looking to have these mounted or plaqued or anything like that, I do plan on framing them, hanging them and never selling them, I didn't buy them as an investment and hope to never have to need to sell them. The advice is still valuable and there is no reason to do something destructive to the value of the posters even if I don't plan on getting rid of them.

Default True Grit posters

Sorry for the blurry picture. I may post a better one later. Picked up the frames from holloywoodposterframes.com. They weren't the cheapest frames but for the quality they were a great buy.

If you aren't into the collectibility factor, and you just want it because you like the imagery, then going the reprint way is fine. But what I think is funny are the reprints you see on MovieGoods (or their other sites they sell from) charging $30 for a reprint, when in most cases you can buy the original new release for the same price and get something that is of collectible value.

No worries, regardless of if someone is collecting for resale, or just collecting because they want originals, I personally would never dry mount a poster. Did you get one of the numbered variants, or the rarer signed and numbered variants? About 40 percent of the print run was signed and numbered by the artist.

Looks like mine is only numbered according to the description. I wonder if I emailed Stout if I could ship it to him and have him sign it... I think I may do that, see if he'd personalize it for me

Tyler is a great guy, he may offer that service, signing through the mail, not sure though. Emailing him first would be best.

Thanks, yeah it is insanely detailed, you really can't get a feel for it by photos alone, you have to actually hold the thing in your hands to see what I mean.
