Invasion of the Body Snatchers 4K UHD (1978)

This thread title when abbreviated on the main page still gets me every time.
I suddenly hope its a 4K scan of the original including the discovered Perspecta mix and a non Superscope version...then my hopes are dashed yet again.

Guess I shouldn't be foruming with the sleep no more mantra.

Sigh... Nobody is denying those qualities; they are simply saying the audio is not as good as the video. Some of us value audio equally with video, making it important information. The dismissal of some on here implying that to point out the (obvious) audio issue is somehow nit-picking perfection is downright idiotic.

Is the PQ on this 4k excellent? Yes. Is the audio excellent? No, because it is literally missing a piece. These are facts.

Some will trade one for the other, but some of us want both.

The compression is borderline garbage and the audio is messed-up. These are facts.

Still waiting on the eventual Arrow release.

It's good enough for me for now. DV does help too. My initial disappointment in the disc dissipated after coming to terms that it could have been as bad as Silence of the Lambs ended up being. I still hope Arrow gets it!

No. I hate movies and movie discs. This is why I am also angry at each release and own none. Posting about them gives me intense sensual energy. My shelves are a vast desert of entertainment. If people are tech savvy enough, could one not mux the audio from screen factory to the video on the kino 4k? A pain in the ass to be sure, but if one owns both discs and is really bothered?

Yes. In this particular case, an extra conversion is required, since the Shout Factory BD is 23p (23.976 fps) and the Kino Lorber UHD BD is 24p (24.000 fps), so it's more of a pain than it typically is.

Has it yet been determined if the audio was a stereo downmix or just an editing goof with the missing radio content?

As I understand this film was made in stereo and the 2.0 is supposed to be the original stereo track
