They also don't have to pay ridiculous salaries for actors.. since the character is the main star. And pretty much any actor will do. I think Marvel is paying the star of Thor only $500,000 I think... So they are in the drivers seat when it comes to negotiations, and if you not willing to play ball they will replace your ass fast.

the superhero roles are what got those guys to the point of being the high paid actors they are now. they werent before. and Chris Evans definitely isnt the same level as the other 3.

Okay, I guess I misunderstood. I thought the point was being made that the reason why we have so many superhero movies is the low salaries. I guess the point was that new superhero movies are being made because of low salaries. I am still not in agreement, when it comes to recognizable stars taking superhero roles - I am pretty sure Ryan Reynolds is getting a boat load of money and so is Chris Evans. I do agree that "no name" or "relatively unknowns" have to come in at a lower salary, but that is the case regardless of of the genre.

Catching up on trailers. I just watched this one and I liked what I saw. I won't judge the effects and such since this still has a ways to go before it's out, but I'm interested. I know some have mentioned they are growing tired of Ryan Reynolds "usual bit", but I find him hilarious, so I say keep on rolling Ryan. Loved a couple of his lines from the trailer, like the water in the tap one and then the one about flying the plane.

They could have directed the VFX teams to work on those scenes a little more. Putting out work that is so far from finished would seem to have a stronger negative effect than waiting another month to release it.

Then again, maybe most people would be fine with it. This board is not a great representation of the entire public/audience's opinions.

The trailer is out now cause they wanted to attach it to the Potter movie. No other reason.

It's a comic book movie. A lot of them are special effects heavy, especially when dealing with a character like this.

I liked what I saw from him, I think he'll do a good job when the film actually hits. But, if he sucks, I won't shy away from admitting I was wrong. Let's hope I'm not though

That is actually a really good reason to release it now. I didn't know it came out with the HP film. That is a good strategy, to get huge audiences aware of the film.

I would be very surprised if he sucked. I think he fits what they are going for with the character perfectly. He hasn't failed me yet, so we'll see.

If the movie sucks, you can always fall back on the animated version in your collection, right?

I think the ring looks nothing like the comic, neither does the lantern, I mean what's the point in Warner owning DC if they're just going to butcher their franchises when they release them in a live action movie?

After seeing audience reaction to the trailer included with Potter last night, i can safely say, this movie is NOT going to do well.
