Anyone get confirmation their "steelbook" versions of Terminator and HP6 are being shipped to them? I did lol.... gonna be a pain to return these but i have no clue why these orders are being filled in and priced incorrectly for Terminator Salvation at $38.89 If they wanna charge me that price for it, they better be importing the steels from other countries

You should have canceled them both when they announced the ironpacks like I did. You snooze, you lose.

Cheers,
Gui.

I like how they put IRONPAK in ginormous letters, and then for Public Enemies Steelbook is just in regular text

http://recp.mkt41.net/servlet/MailVi...DA4MjcgS0&mt=1

Oh, the ad in the middle is a WICKED deal for any gamers out there (buy 2 get 1 free) for anyone who hasn't bought them already

Maybe it's just my luck though.

That's an improvement, we didn't wasted our time posting on the FS forum about these rip-offs. At least they have learned something.

There's a plenty remaining in the stores I go to. It's not doing too good, Star Trek and TF2 sold day 1. Angels and Demons doesn't count, the steelbook is so ugly, no wonders there still arround 20 left per store. I really don't understand why they have picked that cover.

Thats going to be a tough sell when the amaray version at Walmart is $19.99 in Canada. Do you think they will do a price match?

EDIT: Oops, so the amaray version will be $19.99 at Futureshop too. Are they dumb? Charging $5 more for a fake Steelbook. They don't usually charge more for real steelbooks, what the hell are they thinking. These are going to sit on the shelves for some time.

Not sure if this is because of the poor reception of the ironpack but they have pulled a last minute stunt and are now including a free journal along with the purchase of only the ironpack to further entice it. I just noticed today. Mine is being delivered to me today so i will be able to see what the ironpack looks like this time. Will probably not keep it though but if i do, im definitely getting them to reduce the price as well as getting that damn journal for free.

I think Warner or FS is getting desperate with this move honestly.

What? What are they thinking. Keep the damn free journal and give us the IRONPACK for free. Not $5 more. Idiots.

So I took a look at the IRONPACK today when I went to the store to get HP:6 Amaray and the Public Ememies Steel. I can tell you that I wasn't impressed. The spines all looked really bad for some reason. Worse then Terminator Salvation. The print quality was really lacking. Also, there were maybe half as many of them then the Terminator Salvation ones. Which I thought was weird. Maybe FS & Warner got the message?

Really? I picked up a HP Iron Pack. This one seemed very nice and clean. The spines along with the rest of the case were all flush and didnt have the problem with the T: Salvation where the case were mis-aligned due to the digital copy.

I sandwiched HP between the two other steelbook releases and were almost identical.

I will continue to by these Iron Packs as they are not as bad as others have mentioned.

On a side note, $19.99 for a new release BD movie (amaray version) is dirt cheap. Im surprised they market it that low. Im sure they will even sell at 24.99+ due to the holidays and it is a popular movie for the kids and teens.

The spine was aligned properly. Much better than Terminator Salvation. But the print along the spine looked like crap. Maybe it was just the few I picked up. But it looked alot worse than a Steelbook or Terminator Salvation. It seemed faded or cheap for some reason. Wish I took a pic.

#1 reason why I didn't pick up the IRONPACK today. Ain't paying $5 more for a Steelbook knockoff. Not when Steelbooks themselves are the same price as their Amaray counterparts. This makes no sense to me. Incentives should be free IMHO.

I picked up my Harry Potter Ironpack today and it looked alot better then the Terminator 4 ironcase simply because it had no marks or scratches in the paint and the spine was in perfect condidtion. Both front and back covers aligned perfectly unlike the terminator. What i liked most was the fact that there was no blue band across the top of the ironpack. the picture takes up the full cover. will post some pics soon

I agree that the new HARRY POTTER IronPack looks a lot better than TERMINATOR SALVATION.

I did not find any alignment or denting problems at my store. Yes, the spine is still slightly different since it is not plastic like SteelBooks, and yes SteelBooks are still slightly superior, but the IronPacks come close. I bought one since I was there anyway. Not sure if I would keep it, but that's purely based on the movie itself and not the IronPack case.

The spine art is not as nice. That is because the title is very tall and they really shrunk it down (a little too much) to fit it on the spine.

To the casual customer they look identical to SteelBooks.

I asked about the pricing. I was told that they had to lower the price of the amaray to $19.99 to price match WalMart (Canada). The IronPack version was not adjusted because it's a Future Shop exclusive.

Say, did any of you get the free HP journal that came with it? I forgot to ask about it on my way out.

I returned my HP6 Ironpack today.. im starting to notice that the finish of the ironpack isnt as good as steelbooks and the colour is a bit dull. It worked well with Terminator Salvation where you want that dull colour to blend with the machine and the ironpack effect but HP6 does not benefit from that. My 2 cents

Yeah i wish the SBs did not have the blu-ray thing run all across the top. I think the design needs to be reviewed on those.. most of us collectors do not like it.

In terms of the journal, i do not think stores received it but i didnt find that it was a web exclusive either. You needed to have ordered this like yesterday or the day before when the promo just came on along with the price drop to get the journal i think. Either way i find the amaray version more appealing.. the lenticular lens is a nice touch for HP6.. definitely no ironpack for me and i probably won't get the steelbook... im pretty sure by the time HP8 comes out we will have some sort of deluxe collectors edition
