I know that interpolation isn't only used for 24p, I was just relating back to the prior posts which referred specifically to that for of playback. I have a Kuro elite with the smooth motion filter which I sometimes apply to sports on cable, otherwise it stays off. Last edited by kpkelley; 11-03-2009 at 08:55 PM. |

I appreciate the effort but I don't interpret those comments to = "LCD manufacturers created interpolation in an attempt to address a deficiency native to their display technology. "
Especially so considering Plasma's (your Kuro for example), DLP's, LCos use the same technology. I guess we'll agree to disagree. I see it as a response to improving the quality of the source fed to the display (24fps movies seeing a bigger improvement than 60fps tv from my experience) not the display.. Judder happens on CRT's (as it does on Plasma's and every other type of display) and the response time is king.. In short I see it as a way to make things smoother, which is exactly what does |

My friend in Buffalo has one, so I was surprised when it first came out too that it had it as it was never listed as a feature. Seems like it was added last minute. |

I say go for that Samsung since you are already a fan of Samsung and you like the auto motion plus feature. From my experience, I hardly notice the motion enhancement on my LCD. I guess it's because I've owned the TV for 2 years now and am used to it. I've had my plasma for a few months now, and the colors still impress me. The motion is smooth and natural, almost like having the interpolation setting on low.
