I hope they don't use the RED and Blue Glasses for 3D because they suck and they give me headaches.

Either find a way for polarized glasses to work with my 120hz tv(non 3d supported tv) or just don't do it at all.

Legs are CGI. Realistic, huh?

I'm glad they are releasing a 2D version because I have only one eye and my world is 2D. Watching a 3D movie would probably make me nauseous, anyways I'm glad they are coming out with both versions.

I heard that some reviewers are giving this an outstanding score for visuals, but that the storyline is weak and dated?

Any opinions?

One movie critic on the news last night gave it 4.5/5.

I doubt it. It didn't take the theater any upgrading. BTW, I too will NEVER see this movie without 3D enabled. I heard it's like watching a comic book.

Also, is it just me, or does the real world seem dreary after watching Avatar in 3d?

I hope I can get it working on my current system- It would be close to my theater experience.

And yes it did, but I feel that way ofter with really good movies.

Other than the obvious "Mother Earth" Tree hugger elements of the movie (Thankfully they did not beat you over the head with it) it was a very good movie...Best visuals in 3D I have ever seen, well worth the ticket price......

I read somewhere that it requires special lenses for the theater...

They're not planning on using the RED/BLUE or the other ones (is it Green/Magneta). James Cameron wants to take advantage of the new 3-D BD Spec, which, if I recall correctly is similar to the RealD in theatres (two images as 60hz). Which is why the first release will be your normal 2D, and once the 3D enabled TV's and Blu-Ray players come out will he release the 3D version.

Do you all think it will have lots of features, given 20th C. Fox's "track record" for extra stuff?
Sound off!!

The IMAX version (1.78:1). Making of with interviews, deleted scenes, trailer. Thats all I ever need.

It hasn't been officially announced, which means it belongs in Wish List.

Well you obviously have the desire to post about it
Yes I do feel the need to post about it. To me, Avatar seems more like a product than a movie. And I'm just not buying it. Many of the reviews I'm reading (regarding the story) are bang on with my assessment of the previews I've seen.

Should I blind buy Avatar? Or see it in the theaters first? Honestly, I'm not too excited about it but it's getting decent reviews. I'd like to hear some opinions on a blind buy when it comes out or not.

Why wouldn't you see it in theaters in the first place if you plan on blind buying it?

I'm blind buying it. I hardly ever go the theater anymore. The theaters in my area look and sound bad, and I have a hard time with all the teens and pre-teens that disrupt the viewing experience. I'd rather wait a few months, spend a few more bucks on a blu, and enjoy it in the comfort of my home with my system.

ai3rocks, for this reason. I agree with this.

I'm super excited to see it - I might IMAX 3D it, but if I don't end up doing that, I'll just wait to see it when it comes out on BR.
