Let me be matter of factual :

Avatar will kick your ****in' ass.

When you will step out from the screening, you will be like when you stepped out of the door after your first night of love.

James Cameron doesn't make just movies. He makes orgasmic movies.

Uh, yeah, those last three underwater IMAX documentaries (in lieu of actual narrative film) were worth a cigarette...

And before anyone does the same Nick-cartoon "Avatar" joke, seems M. Night's been busy with that one as well:

I was so ticked off at cameron cause his films were always shit on dvd. the dvds for true lies and the abyss were never given 16x9 transfers so they just plain sucked. Everytime fox would release a new version of the abyss they would write (made for 16x9 tvs} on the back I would buy it and then have to take it back to the store. True lies Just looked like shit. I got burned too many time on these movies I will never buy them again.

true that, but T2 makes up for all that. The Extreme edition is just mind blowing to the point that it nearly matches the quality of a blu ray

Yeah, well im just the news guy, theres someone else doing features and FAQs for each movie (based on great collection of vintage interviews from various vintage magazines), and a separate person for merchandise info and such. We thought about including Point Break but thought that Cameron's involvment is relatively trivial. Same way with Dark Angel, we just decided not to include it, at least for now. Although Dark Angel will find its way to the site sometime in the future in some form

Anyway, thanks for the info bout the art. Much appreciated

Oh, JamesCameron Online, it's the publisher's site. They have a flash catalog, but I won't post the url on a public site. PM me if you wanna check it out (there's aint a lot more, just the pic of Cameron in front of a green screen with arms folded, and some blurb about his visionnary work).

I gotta admit that JC has done a great job keeping the details of the film under wraps, as we have only seen those two images published last week. Considering the movie comes out in 6 months, and the magnitude of the film, and who's directing. The build up should be insane from here on out (or more so than its been)

If you have a multi-region DVD player and a TV that can handle PAL (some multiregion DVD players can also force-output NTSC), then you can get the Australian version of True Lies. Not much in extras but it does have anamorphic video.

Trues Lies exist anamorphic in the following regions :

- Japan DVD (with DTS sound)
- Region 2 DVD (DD)
- Australia DVD
- D Theater tape
- Internet (illegal) micro HD download

It eats alive the R1 disc master

There's even a totally strange HD version in 1.77 format (open matte) !

Van Ling (the FX supervisor and creative consultant on The Abyss, T2 and Titanic, as well as the author of the first T2 making Of and T2 Illustrated Screenplay) said that they may start working on the True Lies special edition DVD in the near future, with all new transfer, featurettes and interviews from cast and crew. They all gotta wait for Jim to finish Avatar first

I don't know - I can't picture how this movie will be that mind-blowing - good? great? sure.

It's been a long time since we've seen something revolutionary in effects.

T2 liquid man.
Jurassic Park Dino
Matrix Bullet Time (even though this lost it's edge VERY quickly).
The new Star Wars trilogy had some great scenes, but nothing that changed movie making or did something we'd never seen before.

I'm putting my expectation down a bit - people seem to be expecting the second coming with this film. After the let down that was Episode 1, I have learned to keep my expectation realistic. (Fingers crossed for something epic, though).

Anyway, I'm hoping after this film Cameron can finally get to Titanic II!

in the olden days, the people of yore would use these "DVD"s to project low quality moving images onto their curved glass tube boxes

Speaking as someone who lost a relative that day.......... I think he should go ahead as planned, because one of things that 9/11 taught us, was that sports, entertainment, and life in general shouldn't become off-limits or looked down upon because of the acts of cowards.
