It's a bleeping Comic Book show! If you're HONESTLY debating realism and deducting points because something doesn't seem realistic, you're completely mental and do not deserve to even chime in.

No offense. lol
Well, I get what your saying. You can't really question the realism of it too much because it's not trying to be realistic. However, somethings just jumped out at me. As others have mentioned, jumping out the 10th floor window and having the poisoner get down at the same time. Stuff like that just jumps out at me. I'm fine with super villains, a high tech cape, and surviving unsurvivable situations, but not stupid hack writing.

Another thing that jumped out at me.
[Show spoiler]Chess put his mask on the cape (before he was the cape), to frame him. So now, to the world Chess is dead. But later on Chess wears his get up again. Stupid. What if somebody sees Chess? People might start looking into him and his company. Part of the reason Chess framed The Cape is so the citizens would think his company did what the cops couldn't. So if the city found out he failed they might change their minds about privatized police. At the least it's bad for PR.

Overall, I didn't really enjoy it too much but I'll watch a few more episodes and decide.

I watched the first 2 hours last night, I liked it. Rather watch something like that then 2 hours of American idol but that is just me.

It's rather simple type of story and with today's jaded viewers I don't think it will last too long before someone pull's the plug on it. Back 25 years ago, a show like this would have work but now a days....

I suppose that's why I can enjoy shows like this when others can't. I don't pay attention to that type of thing. If I enjoy the show, I enjoy the show. I don't read too much into "well THAT was just ridiculous."

As Arvin Clone said, I went through eight years of 24 so obviously my bullshit detector is a bit flawed. lol.

I never ONCE even factored in many of what you pointed out. I just sit back and enjoy the show.

Episode 3 was okay, it looks like they are working on some story arc about Orwell,
[Show spoiler]maybe she's Chess's daughter or other relative judging by the final scene of the episode

It's pretty much how I am as well, I don't spend my time trying to analyse if what is going on plausible or not. First it's a TV show, so no matter what it's not real (unless you think that the stuff going on in ER was what actually does happen on a everyday ER???). As long as I can like the characters then I don't worry too much about the plausible.

For me even a series like Band Of Brothers is not reality. Yes it's base on real events and the producers go to great pains to make it accurate as they can make it but it's still a TV series. It still is not the real experience of what WWII was. All of us living today will never know what that was like to live during those years, only the people at that time can know and say that was reality. So if it's on TV or film I try not to analyse too much what is plausible or not. I just enjoy it for what it is, a good TV series.

What you mentioned in your spoiler is something I questioned as well during the episode. It didn't make any sense, but that was the only major thing for me really.

I watched about 45 minutes of the show and I can't even form an opinion because too much was going on. I understood what was happening, up until the carnival people showed up... what was that about? And a little bit after also. Maybe I missed something because I wasn't completely paying attention. I was more just sitting there like WTF?

From the start, it was cheesy (I don't do cheesy) and some of the lines were terrible like, "slow thinking man" or something along the lines, like really? Some things just bothered me like when he tried to shoot the ARMORED car to get the guy out... that's not going to do anything.

Nothing about this show makes me wanna give it another chance. I deleted it from my DVR after about 50-55 minutes, though I completely stopped paying attention at 45 minutes.

Quite honestly, I don't even know why I recorded it. After seeing the previews (especially the one with the "little person" in it) I should've known I wouldn't have liked it lol

I thought the 3rd episode was a lot better than the first two. The first 2 seemed rushed, I think because it's a story that we've all heard before so they didn't want to drag it out, but it should have been paced better. The 3rd had far better pacing, at least I thought so.

One thing that has bugged me with all 3 episodes is the overly emotion scenes. It's feels so forced and artificial, like they're jamming a hostess cake down my throat. The cheap music that accompanies these scenes just make it worse.

I'd give it a 5/10 so far. The characters are not very intersting. Especially the girl from Firefly. They have done a piss poor job on getting us to really care for anyone on the show. It's just too bland for me. I'llwatch a few more, but if it doesn't get better, that's it.

The third episode was the best yet, but the show does have a problem. The actor they cast as the Cape has very little charisma in the role, which is a major problem as he is the main star. Every other actor on the show has more personality and acting talent. The guy playing Kozmo the villain had more charisma as the guest star than the main lead.

I think the setup does have some potential, though the pacing seems awfully rushed. They have already gone through at least a half season of plot turns so far.

This one lost me completely. One of the things I was hopeful about was that Toni Graphia was involved with writing and production. So far Tom Wheeler hasnt impressed me much at all.

As to the actual ep, Im confused about Gregor the Great, who no prison could hold, yet was in prison for 20 years. Kinda confused why Orwell with all the money in the world couldnt go to motel. And why they set up Gregor as a bad ass murderer if it was gonna be decided by a tug of war. And the truck door, well I guess anything that sets up a funny line is ok.

The problem Im having isnt the simple comic book form. I actually like that it isnt overly heavy. The problem is even for a comic book the writing isnt so good.

Gregor was in and out of prison for 20 years. Apparently he's good at escaping prisons but not the police. That does seem a little strange but oh well. Doesn't bother me. And it wasn't a simple game of Tug 'O War as the cape isn't just a simple rope.

As for Orwell, she should have back-up houses/apartments but probably needs a little bit of time to set up a new cover, turn on utilities and whatnot and simply needed someplace she knows she's safe. Motels are not the best place to be with only one door in and out, possible security cameras, logs of everyone that stays (even a fake name leaves your hand writting). Besides, it was The Cape's fault she lost her old place so he should feel responsible for protecting her while she gets a new place up and running.

Exactly my thoughts, the third episode was definitely the best so far, but I too still think Lyons was horribly miscast. But with the ratings doing exactly as I expected for months now, I still believe this show won't be around long enough to make a difference.

This is on NBC though... It might be good enough.

Haha yeah the fact that mediocrity in numbers rules the Peacock is the reason we still have Chuck, Parenthood and P-Rex, I can be thankful for that at least.

Two New Villains Cast
Quote:
The Unit’s Michael Irby is joining the freshman NBC drama in the recurring role of Pokerface, a new villain who will be introduced in Episode 9. A high-level associate of Scales (Vinnie Jones), Pokerface is described as “a ghoulish-looking thug dressed in a suit whose face is frozen in an expression of glum murderousness.”

Additionally, actor-rapper Romeo Miller (f.k.a. Lil’ Romeo) has signed on to play Lil’ Z, a baby gansta and a mean, smack-talking chatterbox. He works with Pokerface and ends up confronting him and Scales.

The Tug 'O War was a wasted opportunity. Max spent the whole show spouting jibberish about the cape being more than a cape and its history and Gregor talked about it too. This was their chance to allow the cape chose a path of good as opposed the evil path the various Kozmos put it to. I would have enjoyed the scene much more if Gregor was winning and the cape betrayed him, allowing Faraday to get the upper hand. If they were trying to go for that it didnt work.

As to Orwell, I realize Orwell has two things going on. Not only is Orwell trying to hide from ARK but the girl is trying to stay off Flemmings radar for a more personal reason. Still, this was the same Orwell who in the previous episode dumped a poisoned cape out of her car ( mmm, car) onto the ground and drove off shouting "They cant find me." Now one week later she decides it ok to hang at the circus. I just like to imagine the writers watch the show.

He was on The Defenders not long ago as a rapper and it was terrible. This definitely isn't a way to convince people to come back after giving up on the first episode. Romeo gets the worst parts, not to mention he's not good anyway

It's just not something I see sticking around long. But hell I was saying it was doomed to be canceled from the moment it was announced and had anything to do with Summer Glau. Adding a no talent rapper piss ant like Romeo doesn't exactly help it's credibility.
