Watched my UK copy last night (theatrical Version), missed it at the cinema which was a bummer, so it was my first time watching it.
Not as good as the first, but still bloody funny and completely stupid! Which is what I was expecting. Overall a fun film. The PQ is amazing, clarity is superb. One of the best looking Blu-ray's available. AQ is also superb, great dynamics, gets the most out of the superb soundtrack. Will watch the Super Sized Version sometime in the future. Film: 3/5 PQ: 5/5 AQ: 4.5/5 |

Have you guys seen the scan for the Eastern Europe / Asia BD?
It runs (seriously) 1:52:59, which bears out what I saw above from Paramount Japan, that a 113 minute cut exists. Japanese options are not on the "CEE" BD, but I assume that Japan will get the same 113-minute cut with English and Japanese options, which often happens with Paramount. So that means there are at least five different versions of this film on Blu-ray: 119-minute US Theatrical cut 119-minute UK Theatrical cut (possibly shown elsewhere, like Australia) 123-minute US Extended cut 143-minute Super-Sized version (assuming that this is the same everywhere...) 113-minute "International" cut ![]() |

[Show spoiler] I was just thinking, then, that the super-sized version may not even appear on the international discs, other than those countries lucky enough to share US options like French-speaking Canada, Mexico and Brazil (I think it's Brazilian Portuguese, anyway). So it might be that otherwise, it's an English-speaking territory special, and international editions will only get their 113-minute cut, plus a Blu-ray of extras. ![]() So it's an English-territory special then. Curiously, it looks like some territories with the 113-minute cut are getting a 2-disc set (France (Fnac Exclusive), Germany, Italy, Japan), while France, Spain, the CEE territories and rest of Asia appear to be getting one disc with extras, though I'm not sure of that. Was adding up other editions of the film, and found the Italian release uses the title Anchorman 2: Fotti La Notizia, which appears to mean Anchorman 2: F**k the News. Just to continue my bizarre obsession with this Blu-ray release, I figured I would post a small update.
I received my Finnish BD set from Recordshopx today (WOW, quick) and can personally confirm that a (at least one) 113-minute version of this film exists. The copy I received has German, Spanish and Portuguese DUBs for the main feature, and English (British English, non-SDH), Danish, Finnish, German, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish subtitles for the film and extras (all of which are in 1080p). There will be a separate edition for France, Italy, Spain etc, which will probably have an identical cut, but obviously could not share the same disc due to space issues. Now, since this edition comes with only one cut of the film, there is a whole BD-50 devoted to the additional extras, which means that all of the extras that are in SD quality on the US (and I assume UK) editions--the extras on the second disc according to our review of the US set--are now in HD. The only extras in SD 480i are the auditions, which amount to 6:35 and are probably native SD. All of the extras on the bonus disc have optional English (British English, non-SDH), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish (Latin America and Spain) and Swedish subtitles. To be clear, this means that over 160 minutes of extras are exclusively in 1080p on this edition. Remember, these European/Japanese editions are the only ones to have a dedicated extras disc. The Asia/Eastern Europe edition is one BD-50 with the film and some extras. In France, the edition with this extras disc will be exclusive to Fnac, otherwise, it will part of the general release in most major markets. I will post scans when I have viewed the discs. ![]() |

[Show spoiler] The French edition shown above will be exclusive to Fnac and is available to pre-order here. The Spanish edition at Amazon is specified as one disc, so I have not included it. Last edited by McCrutchy; 05-10-2014 at 11:17 PM. |

I have moved discussion of the different versions to a dedicated thread here:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=241392 but just for the record, here is an example extra from the UK/US version: Extended/Alternate Scenes (Note: Stream diagnostics omitted due to scan length): Presented in SD 480i on the UK/US edition: [Show spoiler] and the same extra, presented in full 1080p on the international release bonus disc: [Show spoiler]

Sorry you misunderstood what i was saying
![]() i already have the American version with 3 different variation of the film. what i was asking when i posted was are there are there any other variations and was told to skip the UK one and instead go for the German version which has the shorter film plus a new bonus disc packed with lots of new additional extras. i tend to collect all variations like they did for the blade runner box set....some might find it kinda sad but i like completeness ![]() p.s the German cut is a completely one off slightly shorter cut (30min) same as the one sold in asian markets and japan so is a completely different variation to western sold variations.
