It's not a remix on Rogue Nation (native Atmos), just a near-field mix which is SOP for home video.
Press releases always make it sound more than it really is.

Does it also mean that it will be different than the Atmos track on the BD?

I mean, is the BD also a near-field mix?

The Hunt for Red October is by far my favorite of the Jack Ryan films. This will be a a definite upgrade.

That’s more like it. I can’t wait for my copy to be ruined with bilingual text.

Default Я люблю "Красныm Октябреm"!

Has to be one of my Top 5 of all time.

Since I know a little Russian, I printed the Russkie art as a faceplate for my Amaray. Love the irony since they're the bad guys:

Then I bought the Walmart Metalpak, so I just put it inside as an insert. And I'll stick the 4K disc in that as well.

Here is a link to that image as a hi-res tiff if you'd like to print it out for your Blu or 4K:

When I was twelve, I helped my daddy build a bomb shelter

90 miles off the coast of Florida. Well, this thing could park a
coupla hundred warheads off Washington and New York and
no one would know anything about it till it was all over.

YES
DAY ONE
For me this is yet another title that encourages me to buy a 4k player despite not having a 4k display yet. I have every major release of this classic and these films have long needed revisits. At least the current BD of October is good and not DNR fests like the Ford sequels which I have quite of a soft spot for.

It would be nice to have both theatrical sound mixes preserved but I doubt if they’d include both the 2.0 Dolby Stereo and a 5.1 derived from the 70mm release.

This is such a welcome bit of news. I adore this film and feel it is McTiernan’s finest and a truly underrated classic. It was such a missed opportunity to recast the series in another direction even though I enjoy both Noyce and Ford in the 90’s sequels they aren’t in the same league.
It is perhaps even better news in video terms that both Patjor Games and Danger are getting upgraded. Their BDs are virtually unwatchable.

This catalogue content that has been announced in the last couple weeks is very impressive. I sure hope they give these movies the treatment they deserve and not make skimpy, pointless re-releases.

My favorite exchange in the film:

"Hey, I think someone just shot a torpedo at us."

"No shit buckwheat. Now, get the hell outta here."

"Wait, where am I..."
