I watched this last night and enjoyed it a lot. It's got suspense, mystery, drama, and a few silly moments that made me laugh. That one boyfriend sure was able to cope with his grief.
I'm glad Shout put this on sale recently.

Corey Parker has a couple of wild anecdotes about working with Michael Winner in a recent interview with Diabolique Magazine.

Picked this up during the sale. Never seen it before until now.

lol, what a ride. Really enjoyed this one. I’ve been clamoring for “Curfew” from 1989 but this filled the void I was seeking from that title.

This version is cut. There is some cuts in the sex scene that are different from the old VHS tape. There is a closeup, and some more movement in what is shown along with some more sex audio.

What is cut on the other hand is far more explicit action from the VHS. The answer for me. Transfer the VHS tape, and edit the footage back in!

Was a pain, but worth it for me with this awesome classic. I love this movie in all its trashy glory.

Just watched this for the first time tonight--been on my radar since Scream Factory released it. What a trip. The dialogue is outrageous, and I couldn't get enough of that overwrought, melodramatic '50s score that felt like it belonged in a Douglas Sirk movie. Totally ridiculous in a lot of ways, but the last half is fairly suspenseful, and there isn't a boring moment in the entire movie. Rachael Kelly is spunky and at times hilarious. If I had caught this film on television or in some other way, I'd never have guessed in a million years it was from the same guy who directed The Sentinel.

Totally agree! I picked this up as a blind buy shortly after it came out, and watched it with a friend. Needless to say, we had a ton of fun with it and very much enjoyed the bizarre tonal mish-mash that is this movie. Everything about it feels off, but it's super watchable, and Rachael Kelly actually gives a decent performance. I wish they could've tracked her down and included an interview as a bonus feature or something. I'd be so interested to hear her thoughts on the experience.

I've never heard of this. judging by the trailer preview, it looks like a typical Lifetime Channel flick (which I often enjoy), but with more nudity.

That's a fair assessment. It is a lot like a Lifetime TV movie, albeit one that every so often is like "oh right! We're a horror movie!" and then throws in some jarring profanity, nudity, or violence. It makes for a tonally bizarre film, but a pretty darn fun one.

I was going to ask about Scream for Help in the Scream Factory discussion thread in Studios and Distributors, but after doing a forum thread search, found this thread specifcally about the film. It's been on the list of Shout! Factory Blu-ray film titles I've wanted to get, but I'd forgot about it until very recently. Don't want to jinx things, but it's still available.

Did it originally come with a slipcover, and what is the likelihood of a better release happening?

It never had a slip. As far as a better release, the Scream disc is pretty solid, and I don't think this would be a likely candidate for a 4k release. It's always possible another label could snag it and do a new scan, but I wouldn't expect anything soon.
