“SUSPIRIA is the ultimate genre film to make the jump to UHD,” Don May, Jr., president of Synapse Films, tells RUE MORGUE. “With the beautiful color palette and directional audio, there was no better candidate to set the standard for older catalog titles for this new 4K format. We went back to the original 4K files and basically started over, reconfiguring the theatrical DCI-P3 color space for UHD’s expanded color palette and utilized high dynamic range. I couldn’t believe it was possible, but the film looks even more jaw-dropping. The high dynamic range looks amazing without corrupting the original photographic intent. We also made the decision to add a Dolby Atmos remix for the release, just to have a little fun with the format.”

it's too bad they didn't do a pass of the image with Dolby Vision

Why is that in bad taste ? An old Italian horror film has zero to do with the tragedy of 9/11.

shipping is quite expensive but good packaging & fast shipping
best to combine with 3/4 other titles to get shipping costs down

Yeah, but some of us haven’t picked this film up yet that don’t have 4K, but want to upgrade in the distant, distant future. Plus some of us like having both formats for different players/TVs we may use. They could at least have an option to get a standard BD, even at a somewhat higher price. I do not want to purchase this twice.

Trap laid...and trap sprung, complete with rolleyes smiley. Well played sir. If only you'd gotten this uppity with the original post, I'd have made sure to drench my reply with sarcasm.

I read this comment on facebook, I agree:

Total $92 ($50 + $37 + $5), I fell ripped from Synapse Films, at least should offer a discount to those that brought the Steelbook or send the disc only for free.

I ordered before I even finished reading the initial post. I just saw the hyperlink and thought WANT IT.

Thinking about it further, perhaps I should have ordered it from Synapse directly.

Unbelievable, it's like a dream came true!!!

Importing the Synapse limited edition Blu-ray cost me a lot of money when it was released, but I'll be pre-ordering this asap.

I hope Tenebrae, Phenomena and especially Demons will follow soon!

No more excuses, Arrow, get to it...
