John Carpenter's THE THING is a readaptation.
Wanting this and obviously going to keep the ARROW VIDEO release.

This has to be one of my most anticipated 4K movies. The soundtrack intro with the alien spores and blood-flow sounds are so atmospheric.
And then later when Donald Sutherland falls asleep outside and the....... Yea great scenes!

Both Body Snatchers and The Thing are adaptations of novels/novellas.

When I got into Lovecraft, I was picking up all the anthologies that Chaosium was publishing. I was reading The Antarktos Cycle and I stopped a few pages into one of the stories 'Hey wait! This is The Thing!'

Sure enough, they had put 'The Thing From Another World' in the collection.

I do prefer the original to the remake, and I do wish it was getting a new scan (I've heard mixed things about the current Blu). But I'm still happy that this one is getting a 4K release, especially since the Shout release is OOP. If someone could follow up with the original though, that would be great!

With Kino announcing many 4K's of past Scream Factory releases I pray they give us Carrie, Texas Chainsaw 2, and Child's Play. But Carrie especially.
