I have to tell you, I regretted buying this. Put it on trade forum the same day I bought it.

Sorry, everyone will have different view on things. The picture was great, the audio lacking for me (Celine is way better for me), and the music was just not my type.

Default Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds

Just popped this into the PS3 and felt compelled to post that this is an incredible looking and sounding blu-ray, plus it's Dave Matthews, so you can't go wrong . I'm listening to the Dolby TrueHD track (96/24) and the clarity is simply amazing, even for my "no hi's,no low's must be bose" 301s (you speaker snobs stop rolling your eyes; the speakers are next. but sinking $5k recently into a new display and receiver means i have to start pacing myself)

Awesome job by Sony BMG!

Next up is David Gilmour. Amazon had one hell of a deal recently on these titles -- ~$15 each.

blu-ray is the greatest thing to ever happen to home theater.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I bought this Blu when it came out, and the sound was a bit distorted. I was playing it with a crappy Aiwa sound system, so I just kind of ignored it (even thought it was the only DVD or Blu that was doing that).

I recently picked up a Sony 5.1 system (which isn't great either), but I put the disc in and it's still doing it. Is it at all possible I've got a defective disc? I've read nothing but great things about the sound.

Try engaging the Dynamic Range Control (DRC or Night Mode) option.

i am not sure about your disk but I have to say the sound if amazing on my system. I can play it quite loud and no distortion, i think it is the best sounding concert I have which is quite a lot of my BD collection

That's what I'd read from everyone else, but mine gets pretty distorted, especially when Dave sings very loudly. It's confusing the hell out of me.

I had it on both dvd and blu, both smaller sony 5.1 and upgraded speakers and it sounded great on all. Make sure u have it on A.F.D straight audio no movie or concert effects. Maybe turn ur center speaker up or down on the +1, -1 speaker level menu..

Night mode option compresses everyhting, you dont want that, make sure your ps3 doesnt have a higher sound option checked than your receiver can handle too... make sure the blu is on the DD..

also don't go higher than ur 50s volume on the sony receiver...

But if his speakers can't handle full range then it's a better option.

I see this problem with PC speakers quite often too.

I've seen a couple of folks complain or grip about this video. Some complain about the video and others complain about the audio. Well, most if not all of the folks that I've seen complain, don't have either a signature or gallery to state the system they listened and watched this on.

For me and the system that I have, this is so far the best concert Blu-Ray disc that I've ever seen. The video is crystal clear every floating dust particle, every bead of sweat on the face or hands and fingers of both Dave and Tim were visible. The audio, WOW, it was so clear, every string that was plucked or strummed (is that a word?) was so clear it is the first time that I had the belief that "I was there" and in the best seats of the house.

1080p & 96/24 Dolby True HD at it's finest; high bitrate encoding. Perhaps some didn't like it because it wasen't the usual full band, stage diving, panties being thrown on the stage type concert. The recording engineers did an incredible job mastering this concert to a level of clarity that is yet to be surpassed as far as music concerts go on Blu!

In fact, it sounded even better since I added the Emo XPA-5 amp into my system. I can't recommend it enough, two guys playing the "F" out of their guitars, Dave belting out the vocals, the audiance loving it; what more do you want!?!

Of course, this is just my opinion!

The best concert disc there is out on Blu-ray period. The content, the PQ, and the AQ are just amazing! Can't recommend it enough to anyone.

I agree with everyword of the last 2 posters.... The other day i was in best buy and they had it playing in blu on a $1800+ Sony 46" lcd and it looked bad with their tv settings! even though it is capable of looking amazing on any tv... I have a panasonic plasma and it is hands down the best looking blu ive ever watched on it, and the sound is amazing

Thumbs up Must own Blu

This is a must own blu ray. It is a great blu concert to show what your system can really do. Also, the music is for the most part is melow. Which is a good thing; sometimes certain family members might not get into: Iron Maiden and Ted Nugent(which by the way rock)

SMALL sets the frequency crossovers, not dynamic range.

Passages with high signal level will often introduce distortion. Having set up a lot of these type of systems forces you to be creative.
