Well it would be easy for me to say Spielberg because he is my favorite but there is someone he, and everyone else I like, mention as a huge influence on their careers, although I'm not familiar with his work very much.

John Ford

What do you guys think?

Also, he doesn't get mentioned in these lists often because he is foreign but Akira Kurosawa is AWSOME as well.
