I can sort of answer my own question:

Flobots
Crown City Rockers
Gym Class Heroes (This is kind of hip hop, right?)

So other then these groups, and the Roots, and what others have mentioned, are there any more?

If you want a group of people that play instruments and write their own music listen to the Roots. Another Hip Hop band is Stetsasonic. Gym Class Heroes are mainstream and lean more toward rap music than Hip Hop music...but Travis (the bands lead Emcee) can rhyme pretty well.

i still dig method man, wu-tang, redman, eminem, immortal technique, jedi mind tricks

stuff like that

lil wayne is the downfall of hip hop imo

Reason why I don't listen to radio since all they play on pop stations are lil wayne, T Pain, and others. I end up just listening to alternative rock station which is much better.
