Not having all of the content with every copy does suck, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker for me with this show.

I still haven't viewed the special features yet from the other three sets...

Furthermore, they bury the commentaries in the actual audio mix, which is annoying.
The absolute BEST Commentaries I've ever listened to were for The Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest!

Well everyone's different. I find featurettes for newer stuff too promotional and repetitive. Either way though my point is I can't be mad about something I don't care about, same with the lack of DVD discs which I just gave away anyway.

Gotta pick your battles.

This is the Target Exclusive featurette, which was uploaded (legally) a few months ago.

I know (and even agree with) what you mean by "promotional and repetitive", but this one is substantive.

Same here. There's nothing on the exclusives that I'm going to miss terribly. Commentaries are the big thing for me.

Brian White's review on whysoblu.com did not have a good picture of disc 1, but we can see that it only has episodes one and two, while disc 2 has three episodes.

As does disc 3

And disc 4 has two episodes.

We are getting fewer discs but it seems that we are not getting more episodes stuffed onto any of the discs on the new set. We are not getting any discs with single episodes (season one had two discs with just one episode but also had two discs with three!). So that seems to mean less standard (not retailer exclusive) bonus content, which I have not seen complaints about.
This is definitely my favorite packaging of the show's blu-ray releases. I love that black and white and red color scheme!

Here is a shot of the spine:

I'm with you, not big on audio commentaries generally speaking. They might be more specific and detailed, but I just find them tedious to get through most of the time. I like the energetic ones with John Carpenter and Kurt Russel where they just enjoy each others company and reminisce on the production without taking themselves too seriously. The AC for Big Trouble in Little China being my favorite.

Agreed, my favorite commentaries are for Kevin Smiths early works. The Mallrats commentary was awesome.

I like most audio commentaries. I like a good mix of technical details, on set stories, anecdotes, personal stories, and a lively energy. The only thing that ever ruins it for me is a nasally voice. Bless him, I've yet to enjoy a JJ Abrams commentary. His voice irritates the shit out of me.

Hopefully you find enjoyment in the Force Awakens commentary.

I hadn't even thought about that. I'm just gonna have to force myself to sit through it. It won't be as bad as having to listen to Ben Burt go on and on and on...and on about how he discovered and captured some random minuscule insignificant sound effect while he was on his way to some mundane uninteresting place. Hopefully The Force Awaken's commentary will have some of the cast and crew in it and not just be Abrams by himself.
