You deserve to be lost if you jump from THG to MJP1. There is way too much story that happens in CF.

What happens in Catching Fire is kind of a big deal. You're doing a disservice to yourself by reading a few paragraphs to sum it up.

Catching Fire is one of those rare spectacular sequels.

That Honest Trailer makes a very good point about Katniss's lack of agency. She is basically a passive character, manipulated by many others.

Wow, I dunno why anyone would do that and leave themselves with an incomplete set.

Edit: I finally figured out how to access the Easter Egg. When the BD loads, get ready to press the Blue Button on your remote control. After the piracy warnings, the Lionsgate logo plays. The word "Lionsgate" morphs into graffiti on a grey wall, at which point the "camera" pans downwards. As the "camera" pans downwards, you'll see what looks like a medicine bottle. When you see the bottle, press the Blue Button. The BD will then play the propo directed by Plutarch Heavensbee.

Seriously by/rent Catching Fire, it can be had very cheaply and is well worth the watch. Skipping it would be to skip the best entry in the series (so far at least) and makes little sense.
