Superman: The Movie 4K UHD (1978)

While I doubt there will be yet another alternate cut I would love Superman II (theatrical) on 4K UHD Blu-ray.

I just hope I don't have to wait until 2021 to get it!

2020 is the 40th anniversary of II. Seeing as we're only two months away from 2019 (holy shit where does the time go, says the guy who spends all day every day posting on here) then 2020 ain't no hardship.

I get why some dislike the comedy in Superman 2, but I was a kid when it came out and it never bothered me. I guess I'm used to it. I actually missed that stuff in the Donner cut. It's not like the first movie is lacking in cheesy comedy either, let's be honest.

I was around 9 years old when Superman II came out, seen it in the theater with my parents and it was the most awesome sequel to me. As years went on, I find Superman The Movie to be my favorite. But like you said, the comedy still doesn't bother me but man, that movie was incredible to me when I was younger. Also along with The Empire Strikes Back

Agreed. I feel like they boosted the contrast too much on the theatrical BD of Superman II (not an issue with the Donner cut). Otherwise, it looks very good.

I'm hella excited for the inevitability that Batman will drop next year, but I must say, if we don't get Returns as well, I'll be distraught. I don't wanna have to wait till 2022 for the best comic book film of all time to get a UHD release.

They might do a set, after all, many would skip the others but if they do all 4in a set it will force my hand and as much as I hate 3&4 HDR would look insane and warrant at least 1 viewing.

I would be all over a new Burton/Schumacher box set. The 2009 Anthology set was actually my second ever BD purchase.

I wouldn't mind a Batman set in 4k. Warner sure knows how to price sets cheap and I got the first four on sale at Best Buy for $10. So it's not like double dipping will be expensive.

Amazon dropped it to $24.99. If it was the 151 minute cut I'd be all over it. This should make folks happy.

While I would prefer if this included the 2000 cut, $25 is too irresistible a price for one of my all tie favorite movies on 4K.

The Metropolis battle sequence near the end of SII always looked "overlit" to me, like its obvious its on a sound stage, which is a shame.

And in fairness I hated Otis in the first movie. And in the first movie it was mostly Otis responsible for the stupidity.

I was a young kid around 10+ years old and still couldn't understand why they kept showing the same guy skating backwards like he was doing a clown act.

You don't have to wait until 2022. The best comic book movie of all time, X2: X-Men United, was released on UHD two weeks ago.
