Which route would you recommend? Also since The Signature Series comes with a digital copy is it the same as the digital for the 4K or a downgrade?
The booklet isn't worth it. Get the 4k disc and you will have the 1080p and 4k versions. Vudu is a last resort since it's low bitrate video (high compression) and lossy audio.

So the Signature Series is half the price: Is the picture quality that dramatic an improvement going to 4K? I’ve read many things on this thread and was curious about that as well.

I felt it was a solid improvement.

What jumped out to you as far as improvements, if you don’t mind me asking?

The grain looked more refined on the UHD, and the HDR gives the image a little more pop.

This movie has a lot of ornate costumes and set dressing that the 4k resolution shows off better. It's not a demo disc or anything but it's one of those 35mm 4k scans that actually benefits from the resolution bump a lot more than modern 2k digital movies do.

The HDR adds some nice texture to torch-lit scenes and whatnot.

I like that stuff but also the black levels, they look good on the Blu-ray but can seem crushed at times, particularly in VFX shots, but on the UHD it lightens up the shadows a bit and me likey.

Stronger colors, a lively contrast, better fine detail and some nice upper directional Atmos effects. Worth it all the way!

Not on the topic of the 4k release but if you're a fan of Bram Stoker's Dracula like myself... go get that La La Land Extended Soundtrack... WOW.

For the UK 4k edition, is the 1080p PQ the same as the Supreme Cinema Series?

Sadly the color timing is still not favorable to my eyes. After all this time the Superbit DVD is still my go to for this film.

I actually understand the guy. I love acidic colors of early home releases. It gives the film more surreal feel, imo. That's why I still keep those.

Also, Superbit DVD is nicely bright with great shadow detail. It's better than on UHD, which is a bit too dark and even crushes a few shots here and there.
