Unless you're talking about the US release, the UK set looks like the original artwork to me.

They did use the original art.

This is also the artwork that most folks will remember. The alternate designs can't compete.

I did buy the US, but looking at your pic, my House II reverse art is the same as yours - they just reused the artwork from the first one.

Maybe that was the VHS art or something, but this was the original theatrical art:

That's an alternate design that wasn't widely used.

If they were using alternate artwork they likely would have went with this for part 4 to match the theme...

I was around when these opened theatrically and that art you linked to was NEVER the theatrical art in the US. The US poster art for Part 2 has always been the hand with the key in the US.

The one you linked to looks like some cheap euro-poster alternate artwork.

Shipped from Zavvi ( UK TO USA ) in a plastic bag.

And I get it undented, un crunched and in perfect condition. Same with the Donnie Darko box a few month back.

Good luck I guess.

I will be digging into these soon.

Actually, Arrow's 2nd pressing of The Beyond correctly more than just the opening black and white segment. The 1st pressing was rather washed out in general, and the 2nd pressing corrected that somewhat. A comparison on caps-a-holic verifies this.

LOL dude, I'm from Chicago and remember that they indeed play this Saturday afternoons on WGN. That's how I first saw it. I remember thinking to myself 'man this movie is lacking'. I thought maybe it was because it was cut up for content, guess not. It's just a bad flick.

Never seen part 3, does the uncut version make it any better of a movie?

In case some might wonder how the House 3 framing compares to the Shout! one, I matched 2 screenshots to some found in the blu-ray.com review of the Shout! release.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/206453

As you can see, it's the same framing.

I doubt I'll even watch House IV. The original move was the worst of the first three for me, and IV sounds like a much worse version of the original. Meh.

House IV is a really friggin' weird mish-mash of a family movie, a grief coping movie, a haunted house movie, a supernatural Native American movie, a heroic ghost movie and a Troma film (the entire Grosso sequence), if you ask me.

Best part of the House IV blu-ray is director Lewis Abernathy openly crapping on the film hard in the bonus features. Seems like a pretty chill guy, i'd say.

Why is Norman Bates' House used in the cover art?

Not to mention, that's also the same background/house used on the reversible House III cover on the Arrow blu-ray.
