Not movie posters but they have actors on them.

These just arrived from Tim Oliveria. Also grabbed the reg of the Love is Grand print but really feeling the Serg variant:

The Marilyn 1952 has been sold out but I got lucky. I'm in love!

I wonder if WB will release a Deathly Hallows Part: 2 poster with the actors and actresses names on it?? It would be odd if they didn't, especially when all of the Potter posters have a version that has the credit bill on it

I would agree, it simply is odd that the studio decided to release the final style with no credits, unless they are planning on releasing the very same style but with credits added at the very last minute. The marketing for this year's WB films when it comes to posters has been rather baffling. The Hangover 2 advance and final styles were the same poster design, with the final style simply adding the credits. This has been done before by other studios, but WB also did the same thing for SuckerPunch, so it would not surprise me if they do it for HP: Part 2, but with three weeks until the film opens, and seeing that this new style just hit theaters, it would not make much sense for them to release another style this close to the release.

Also, for the record, there was only ONE official and authentic style made for the domestic release for Green Lantern. With a ton of promotional images released online, those were never posters, the studio only released one poster for the film, and for a movie that was potentially the start of another major super hero franchise, I was quite surprised they only released one poster.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is another that is causing a lot of confusion with collectors, there are only two official movie posters out there, which would be the advance and the final which just came out, but it remains to be seen if in fact a third style will be released for it.

When talking about the advanced poster, are you talking about the Burning Castle Poster or the Harry vs Voldemort poster? Cause if there is another poster for part: 2 out there, I have yet to see it.

For Harry Potter movie poster collectors, here are the official authentic styles released for "Deathly Hallows" Parts 1 & 2. You will probably find others offering "posters" with different imagery but those aren't official/authentic, many dealers take the images released and reported erroneously as posters and sell them as such, and while some would say they are considered reprints, I would consider them as fakes because a reprint is a term given when it is a copy of an original, so if an original never existed, how can there be a reprint of one?

These are (in order of when they were released) the Deathly Hallow original movie posters....

Part 1/2 "Advance" Teaser Style (This was the first HPeathly Hallows poster released in late 2009 which promoted the two films, but also had the 3D tag line on it as both films "were" expected to be released in 3D):

Part 1 "Recalled" Final Style (This style was released in theaters about four weeks before the film opened, everyone, including me, thought it was odd that it didn't feature the credits on it seeing that film was about a month away. It too featured the 3D tag line, but a few days after these were shipped to theaters, the studio announced the film would not be in 3D and asked for the theaters to either take them down and send them back as a replacement style would be shipped out, or to destroy them.

Part 1 "Final" Style (This was the replacement style sent to theaters the following week which featured the same imagery as the style above, except without the 3D tag line and the credits added to the poster)

Part 2 "Advance" Teaser Style (This was the advance style for Part 2)

Part 2 "Final" Style (With the film set for release in about three weeks, this style hit theaters last week. Again, it is quite odd that the studio left off the credits, perhaps they will rush another style out with the same imagery but with the credits on it, but generally when a film has a month or less until it is released, a studio doesn't put out multiple styles. If another style is released it would have to be within the next week or two, again, strange if they do that, but if so, then this style would officially be known as the advance style "B" and whatever new style is released would be a final, but for the time being this style is known as the "final" style)

Default Captain America "Final" Style

This appears to be the final style for "Captain America", personally I think this will be the best of the superhero films this summer, as it looks great and the posters are quite nice but very difficult to find authentic originals so collectors be careful out there in your search, lots of reprints out there of the advance. This final style will probably hit theaters within a week or two...

Ok, the last poster you displayed is the one I do not have at the present time. Now Idk if it is just me, but I remember WB releasing that poster and then one with the villains on it (alligned just like the heroes poster), which led me to believe this was just another promo poster, but I guess it isn't. I would think the final poster would be more "in line" with the other poster. Like all of the hP poster have a saying on them, like for Part 1, the final says "Nowhere is safe."
I truly think there is one more poster waiting to be unveiled with a tag line on it.

I know the image you describing with regards to the one with the villains on it for Part 2, but have you actually seen that as a poster? The reason being is that every time an image was released that "looked" like a poster, it was reported as such on various websites but that didn't mean the image WAS a poster, it just meant that websites were calling it as such. That is the problem with websites reported everything they get as movie posters when a lot of the time they aren't posters at all.

Another example of this is Green Lantern, look at how many images were released and how many sites were referring to those images as movie posters, when in fact only ONE movie poster was made for the film's domestic release. The supposed final style for Deathly Hallows Part 2 would have made a better advance style, and then the one with the villains on it would have made a nice matching advance style as well, perhaps putting them side by side to form one large image (similar to what Disney did for Alice in Wonderland), but that villains style to my knowledge isn't a poster, only a promotional image released by the studio, along with several other images as well.

Something I take issue with are those fellow poster dealers who take these images that are released and are reported to be posters and they then start printing them up AS posters. If people read through this poster thread they would know which dealers I am referring to. The amount of counterfeit garbage on the poster market is staggering, and for new collectors just getting into this hobby, they know no better and assume they are legit. I just had a person email me who fell victim to one of these and contacted me saying "I should have listened to you and what you said about these types of dealers" and he basically got a counterfeit thinking it was an original.

So for the record, when it comes to official AUTHENTIC movie posters for HP: Deathly Hallows Part 2, those images I posted in my earlier posting are accurate. If another style is released, I will get it posted here.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification and info!! I do hope they release one more poster, for continuity. It would be stupid not to release one

Do you mean it would be "stupid" not to release a style for part 2 without the credits on it? Is that what you meant? If so, I would agree, it is odd that there would be no final style without the credits, but there is a chance there won't be. I would say if we don't see another style by the 4th of July weekend, we probably won't see another.

Just picked up the latest effort by Danny Miller... custom framing is gonna set me back again... but I thought this was a pretty cool piece that I'd like to frame the print, the cheat sheet and the buttons with.

Hi, I have a couple questions about movie posters, forgive me I'm new to this. First, what's the difference between single sided and double sided posters? Is it literally a double sided image, or just a better quality build? Also, what would be the best type of frame to house (for example) a 27x40. Thanks in advance and my apologies if this has already been discussed.

This does get covered from time to time but this thread is full of really helpful people so no worries... a double sided as the name suggests does have an image printed on both sides of the paper, with the one on the back of the paper printed in reverse. I have found the stock of the paper original double sided posters to be printed on to be quite a heavy good quality stock, while cheaper single sided prints have been on a lesser quality stock.

Now the reason for the double sided print is really to enhance the quality of the image when the poster is placed in a backlit poster box/frame. The poster just pops with colour when lit from behind. These backlit poster boxes however are not cheap, they are hundreds of dollars when purchased but there are some diy options that can help bring that cost down... I decided to build my own and I am quite happy with the results.

You've got ask yourself a couple a question before getting into this hobby and that would be is are you treating these posters as an investment? If you are, then the only way to go is with original posters and with any poster made in the last couple of decades (I'm really guessing here, Kinsella is a much better guide) that likely means you are looking for double sided prints. This really is a buyer beware market though as there are countless reprints out there most of them poorer quality single sided reprints, but apparently there is a market for double sided reprints as well.

Now if you aren't in this for any sort of collectability or investment purposes and just want some posters to put on the wall in some cheaper frames then as far as I'm concerned you should go the reprint way to save yourself some cash as reprints are a fraction of the price of originals. The quality of the print will not be on par with the originals, but I still feel they look pretty sharp.

I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts and opinions, these were just mine

Yea I also picked this one up. I was on the fence about it, but the awesome extras helped make my decision.

Also got the recent Scarface print released by Tommygood.

Well, movieposter.com has the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part:2 "heroes" poster up, I'm probably gonna purchase it. And as said before, I do think in the next couple of weeks, we will see the final style of the Deathly Hallows poster because the one just released not too long ago doesn't even have Deathly Hallows written on it. Just, it all ends 7/15. Plus, it doesn't have any credits on it. I can't wait till the final one comes out. It will be the end of a movie series that has lasted about a decade!!
