Very cool!! Thanks guys. Waiting for the winter to end up here so I can get some space back in the garage.

Last question when dealing with the room height * .25 measurement. Are we talking about the speaker being for example 2ft off the floor or the sub itself. Is it the decoupling effect we are aiming for or the speaker "height".

Big Daddy is emotionally and physically too tired to ban you. I may still come to Portland and confiscate your equipment and ban you from your condo.

I am too busy plotting my next naughty purchase. I am investinging adding big ribbon tweeters to my DIY speakers. There are too many choices and they cost too much. Do you know any good divorce lawyers?

To me I do things out of the normal & experiment ! This is the best my rear sound stage has sounded & the sub Drivers are 3 feet high with A 8 foot ceiling .

I am looking for one ribbon tweeter. Most probably, it will be around 7" tall and 4" wide. I think that will be enough for me to end up in divorce court.

One ribbon tweeter for each speaker.

I am sure the two speakers can be trained to share one tweeter.

Hey Guys,

I'm a bit confused on the FOAM. I stopped by wal-mart and looked in their crafts section. The only thing I found was styrofoam. In particular, the kind they use for making spheres, cones, and those solar system kits. Is this the right stuff? Or should I be looking for more of a mattress type semi-squishy foam?

Thanks!

The Walmart foam is in a plastic wrap that measures 17x15x2, and it says Polyfil foam on the wrapper. I have one that I bought, still in the wrap. Ended up using something else. $10 shipped, it's your!! Send me a PM if interested.

Ahhhhh. Got it. Thanks guys! I'm on the hunt. I'm actually going to use it in some speaker stands I'm building. I'm putting some sand inside the first 1/3 of the "tower" part of the stand and then the rest will be filled with foam.

If you have a Hobby Lobby in your area, head back by the fabric section. They should have some high density foam in various sizes that will work for you.
