I just recently watched the BLOW OUT disc, and the interview with her on there is pretty good. Hoping this one is similarly insightful.

I was really hoping for a Repo Man style edition with multiple cuts of the film. I know the preferred cut, but its always nice to see differences.

The upgrade will be more significant once UHD BDs arrive. The last release wasn't bad so I can wait.

I'm all over this. A 4K remaster is an automatic purchase. Then, of course, there's the tidbit about this being a Criterion release

I don't know if I'll pick this up...I already had the DVD, upgraded to the MGM disc, and sold that off before buying the UK Arrow release. Are two or three new featurettes really worth buying this for a fourth time? I can't imagine this film looking much better than the previous Blu(s). I bought the Arrow version of Blow Out solely for the extras, despite having the Criterion version, because the latter had a whole second De Palma film (Murder A La Mod) as an extra. Unless I could pick it up for around $15 (which would be tricky with a B&N 50% sale coupled with a coupon), I'd have to sit down and think about it.

Probably not a movie I need to own but I am still excited about it. Will probably go for it. I don't buy anything with a Criterion label on it but it can persuade me to buy good movies I might otherwise not consider worth owning.

I am with others on having to think about this one, I have always been happy with Dressed to Kill on blu-ray and I can't start double/triple dipping on everything just because there is a new 4k scan or a criterion edition but damn I do love this film so I will have to ponder this one over. Now if it was a 4k scan of Carrie, that would have been a hands down double dip.

Exactly. Spruce up the transfer and include the DVD extras left off the MGM Blu (and maybe the commentary from the Criterion laserdisc), and I'd double-dip in a heartbeat.

you might be overestimating the titles that will be available on UHD (especially anytime soon).

It will hopefully include the comparison feature, or something similar. It's all just toned down violence, sex & swearing for the R version, nothing actually "different". Once you see what the differences are, there's really no reason to sit through the R version again, IMO.
It's funny how tame the R version scenes looked years later. I saw this in the theater with my Mom when I was 13. I wanted to soak up all the visual goodness, and she kept staring at me. Talk about a boner killer. Anyway, the film turned me into an instant De Palma and Donaggio fan.
& Yeah, I'm happy with the French BD, torn about whether to wait the many years till I have a 4K TV and this has a native 4K release.

I think there is a good chance that they are working on Carrie. (Heck, at this point I think Criterion might also redo The Silence of the Lambs.)

Why are they releasing Dressed To Kill when they have a TON of titles on DVD that need upgrading to Blu-ray? I have the MGM Blu-ray and it looks great.

Why just the mono track on the Criterion?

I doubt they can upgrade every DVD. They need to make new contracts and probably can't in many cases.

In that case why did they provide a 5.1 mix for Anatomy of a Murder?
I suspect it may be a case of MGM not providing or charging stiffly for licensing the surround mix.

Criterion released this on laser? With commentary?
I would be curious to hear a DePalma commentary for this or any number of his films.

I'd love to know the mechanics behind deals where one studio/label can produce a 4k master for a particular film vs. other labels just using whatever they are given. Financial standing can't be the ONLY factor. Also, why didn't MGM produce a 4k (or even 2k) master for their release of Dressed To Kill but allowed Criterion to do it?

Criterion isn't a major studio yet their Blu-rays are almost always from 2 or 4K masters. I wish Scream Factory were as motivated as Criterion.
