Do most NPCs say at least 2 different things if you keep talking to them? Grandia did that too. |

Have to say I’m not a fan of bosses scaling to match your level, kind of makes leveling up pointless if the difficulty is basically fixed. |

Had this nagging feeling I missed something so I looked up a walkthrough. Turns out I skipped a step early on that’s required to get some bromides. I just got to Vane, have to decide how bad I want to collect all the bromides…

Glad I got my copy already.
I agree, scalpers need to get kicked in the nuts/ovaries for each dollar. Last edited by Dragon78; 05-01-2025 at 01:54 PM. |

Some clown shop on Amazon is trying to sell the PS4 version for over $100 right now.

Here's hoping GungHo press more PS4 discs soon, especially since they claimed there'd be plenty.
![]() I like it because it keeps bosses challenging, while I still get to demolish standard enemies after grinding like crazy. It was far better than in FFVIII, where everything leveled up with you. Last edited by RocShemp; 04-26-2025 at 12:54 PM. |

But the thing about that is it’s incredibly easy to get high level magic shortly after the game begins from the card game, so you can have an overwhelming advantage because of it. It’s junctioning that matters, not the level.

True. Glad to see someone else who appreciates the junctioning system. I didn't care for the story of FFVIII but the mechanics should have returned.

It was a very interesting idea to have MP affect your energy beyond being a resource. The only thing I think they needed to do to improve it is maybe limit the total amount of any particular spell to 100 for the entire party rather than letting everyone have 100 - it would have the player make harder choices on if the magic will benefit one character versus the entire party and encourage more specialization.

Played this for the first time and really enjoying it so far. Oddly, also played Suikoden 1 HD for the first time as well but couldn’t get into it. I’m glad they are re-releasing classic RPGs for those of us who missed out on the original releases and I hope they continue doing this. I’m disappointed that the Final Fantasy series has abandoned its turn based battles to hack and slash RPGs. Paper Mario series also ditched the turn based battles as well. I hope the bring back the classic elements that made the old school RPGs so memorable in future games. I feel sorry for gamers who got introduced to FF7 remake as the first time they played FF7 and never experienced the original game. From what I played so far, Lunar 1 is up there with the FF games that came out during the PS1 era in terms of quality.
