Um, Sheldon is the show. What the hell would they do without him? He is hilarious and he is the main attributed reason behind all of the shows success. So he ain't goin nowhere. I only didn't like Sheldon in the first episode that I saw because I didn't understand his character at all. He is someone you've got to see every episode of to fully understand that you will never understand him, and Leonard is his sidekick. I love both those guys. If anything Penny could leave and I wouldn't miss her much. But Howard is a completely useless character thus far.

I just finished the first disc of Season 1 on Monday. Hope I can get caught up over the summer before the next season starts. As for cast members, they have all provided me with some good laughs so they should all stay.

I've got to say Penny would be the easiest to replace. All 4 of the "dorks" have unique qualities that make their characters great. Penny is just another hot blond. Sheldon is irreplaceable though. I can't imagine the show without him. I'm really anxious to see him and Mayim Bialik interact in the upcoming season.

This is one of my favorite shows and you really can't replace any of the actors they are what make it work. Any changes would ruin the dynamic.

It's also funny how popular this show is now considering it was really close to be cancelled after it's first season. Glad CBS didn't pull a Fox and gave it a chance to grab viewers.

Yea the show would not be the same without Sheldon. Penny would be the easiest to replace, she's just a stupid blonde.

Is it just me or do you find it extremely funny that early on, the guys mentioned their dream girls to be Danica McKellen from The Wonder Years and Mayim Bialik from Blossom and both girls later appeared on the show.

Yep you also know eventually they will get Shatner and Patrick Stewart in an episode and watch Sheldon squirm trying to pick one over the other.

Probably going to be very easy to get Shatner now that he has a show on CBS.

An episode with Shatner and Stewart would end with Sheldon spending at least half the episode in the hospital after fainting.

While great it sucks at the same time, that yet again shows start getting released in their third season or later. They never start from the beginning which is frustrating.

Damn I was just looking at that yesterday, and they still have the release date. Guess I must of just missed it.

Actually it was just posted up on tvshowsondvd.com right before I posted it here. The release date was mentioned in the official announcement, Amazon just didn't include it on their site yet. What I find as nuts though is that they are putting 23 episodes on 2 discs not to mention all the extra content, how in the hell does that not destroy the quality with severe compression? That can't be right, they must mean 4 or 5 discs you'd hope....

Worlds collide in Season 3! A love affair with Penny has opened a big, wide, wonderful world of romance for Leonard. But Sheldon likes the world just the way it was, thank you. All of which makes for a zany comic triangle with brainy, clueless Sheldon and practical, grounded Penny hilariously vying for the role of hypotenuse. This complete 3-Disc, 23-Episode Season 3 Set also features Raj, Howard, tattoos, football, awkward dates, jail time, Stan Lee, a The Lord of the Rings ring and all the fun of a series that only gets better. The Big Bang Theory "has transformed from a cute comedy about eggheads and their hottie neighbor into an addictive ensemble piece that could be this decade's answer to Friends" (Lynette Rice, Entertainment Weekly).

Back in February we passed along word that retailers (specifically Best Buy, as part of a promotion they were doing at the time) had been told to expect the The Big Bang Theory - The Complete 3rd Season on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on September 7th. However, we warned you at the time that this date many not be the final one, and could be subject to change. Now Warner Home Video has formally announced these items, and the finalized release date - timed to coincide with the fall debut of the show's new broadcast season - is now set for September 14th.

The finalized pricing turns out to be $44.98 SRP for the DVD (3 discs), and $54.97 SRP for the Blu-ray Disc version (2 discs). You'll get 23 episodes running 529 minutes, plus bonus material: a Gag Reel; a Big Bang Set Tour with Simon and Kunal ("get an insider's look at TV's hottest comedy, as Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar take us on a tour of the set"); and a "Take-Out with the Cast of The Big Bang Theory" Featurette ("we'll have plenty of food-for-thought as the cast and creators dig into this season's funniest/favorite moments in addition to a side of Chow Mein"). Video is Widescreen (with high-definition on the Blu-ray version), and Audio is English Dolby Surround 5.1 with an option for Portuguese Stereo. Package art hasn't been made available yet, but stay tuned for that!

Really? Yeah 2 discs does seem small. I would say you need 3 discs for just the episodes alone.

Considering the article says that the DVD's are on three discs, but just two on BD, unless they are launching those new BD's capable of 1TB each, than I just don't see how this works.....

Yeah ok I just saw this 529 minutes and extra crap. Yeah I'm not seeing it, 2 discs just seems small for all that.

It's about 4.75 hours per disc, lossy audio and probably not true 1080p HD, sounds about right to me.
