Could be the halo effect around stuff this game has which appears to make objects & color's washed out. It does have a stylized cinematic look that's not very similar to most games which are matted so this effect is definetly intentional & not a flaw. Also playing it on full range would definetly darken the image.

If I set my PS4 to RGB Full then the blue wavy PS theme becomes black!

I've had it about a year and it was new when bought but an old season model so it was cheap. The PS4 seems to have really deteriorated the TV, though, it's weird. Looks older and more worn out now than it did three weeks ago when I only used a BD player on it.

Did you test any other games? With it set to limited you should see more detail in shadows/dark areas.

As a general rule, most TVs should be set to limited, only computer monitors or ultra high end TVs can handle full, or, sometimes but rarely, if your TV allows you to label your input "PC" through HDMI.

For a quick way to check, open this test image in the PS4's browser, with it set to full. If you can see all 28 boxes, your TV supports full. If you can't (the upper left corner is just a mass of black, usually) then set it to limited.

Not tried it on anything else, during the week I only really have time for games if I decide not to sleep!

Tried to go back and platinum this game, all I am missing is the collectables but I can't find the motivation to do so. Oh well, looks like I'll be trading it it. Loved the game though and anyone who is on the fence about the game should definitely give it a try.

One last thing, MORE QTE PLEASE!!!

Oooooooooo, that sucks. Well you probably had very bold color. Image isn't as dark on PS3 in "full" mode.

I HATE the modern trend in gaming where they chuck in a forced stealth section not suited to the gameplay and unable to be passed in any other way. I had to do everything in my power not to snap the disc during that bastard section on the ship, I gave up in the end, I hated the way it rolled back your progress whenever you died forcing you to make baby steps and have to play them over and over. It felt like the game was insulting and punishing for me for not playing along to its specific strings. If I had enjoyed the game more up to this point maybe I would have stuck it out but a game has to provide more than pretty graphics to bite down through that level of frustration.

That's surprising. There's only three dudes and they have the same pattern each time they spawn.

I myself sat down, got hooked, and binged the game in one 8 hour sitting. The ending left me a bit dissapointed. Hopefully we get a sequel! Other than that, it was a pretty darn good game!

I understand you completely! I was so annoyed too the first time I played it, but the second time I said **** it, I'll use the crossbow, and it was much easier, I think I only died once

btw you can find more ammo in a room in that chapter

Just read that Ready at Dawn don't own The Order IP so if we see a second game in the series it could be vastly different and by a totally different studio.

Quote:
According to Sams "it was absolutely the company's desire to own [The Order]", but "we were at a point in the company's evolution where owning that IP was not possible". Weerasuriya said RAD "knew going in it was one of the conditions of partnering with Sony" - there weren't any surprises - but that the pros of the partnership outweighed the cons.

Default The Order: 1886 - Out Now!

I got this game for Fathers Day and started playing it the other day. It only took three evenings to complete. However, I have to say that I really enjoyed the story and I hope a sequel is made to carry it on.

I remember the backlash this game got when it first released and I agree that, gameplay wise, it is very short. That being said, I still enjoyed playing it.

At the moment I'm just mopping up the last few trophies for the Platinum.

I agree, I really liked the game. I hope there is another one, after playing it I did not understand all the hate.

I understand the hate: they complained about what the game isn't, rather than what it is. It isn't Uncharted, Last of Us, or Gears of War; it's its own thing. And for what it tries to be, it succeeds.

Re-reading it, this post seems vague, but I'm busy.

After reading through a few pages here and a review or two, I decided to add this to my Amazon wishlist. Probably will wait until it's ~$20, but I got excited.

Good to see (or read here ) people's different perspectives.

It was actually down to $20 a couple weeks ago on Amazon.

Can't disagree. However, they promoted it as if it was one of those other things (the next big thing), or at least did not let on that it wasn't, and it wasn't, at a time when PS4 sort of needed it. I think that sums it up.

Amazon has the collector's edition for $19.99!

However, I cannot seem to add to my cart. Their website is really slow today...
