Is that how the partner labels work with VS? I was under the impression they had more autonomy- if jah13 licensed a TV horror movie, he is doing so for his company, Fun City, and it is distributed by Vinegar Syndrome. VS couldn't determine it should come out under their Televised Terror. But maybe I have been under the wrong impression and the link between VS and the partner labels is much closer than I thought.

Sorry, I didn't mean to give that impression - I meant more in the sense that Fun City aren't a dedicated (largely) horror label, so I sense their TV movie choices will be more varied.

The reason I brought up VS is because Fun City are a partner label obviously, but I sense they're a bit closer to VS than others. For example - I've always been under the impression that Fun City 'piggybacked' on Vinegar Syndrome's MGM deal to grab some titles, as I have to think any start-up label would otherwise struggle to get a deal with a major studio, especially as MGM apparently ask for a large deal with new partners (50+ titles) (If I'm wrong about this, my sincerest apologies to jah13). Similarly, we're now seeing Fun City releasing Multicom titles (all the Prime Time Panic films), another library VS have extensive access to. So I would think at this point they're both shopping largely in the same store, so to speak, and given the relative paucity of classic horror TV movies in the MGM, Multicom and Filmrise catalogues, it makes sense if VS are eyeing any choice ones for their (hopefully ongoing) Televised Terror collection.

To be clear, I'd certainly love to see horror TV movies in the Fun City line (the more the merrier), but we'll have to wait and see.

Which implies that VS is a dedicated (largely) horror label.
Which is true!
And which also makes me sad
I'd prefer their output to be a little more varied, although the VSAs and VSUs and Peekaramas and such can add some variety. I mean, I like horror, but not 24/7.

This is a long shot, but Fun City might be a good collabo with Charlie Ahearn to put out Wild Style on Blu-ray. It’s been on iTunes in 1080p for years, but I’m really surprised this never got updated to Blu as there were quite a few DVD editions over the years.

Pipe dream: 4K scan + RAD style UHD combo release

Didn't they get burned on that deal? I thought it was an all-or-nothing deal where they had to release every title in a batch, and it included a lot of bottom-of-the-barrel (in sales terms) titles.

Yes, we've licensed films on our own, as well as along with VS, as part of a larger deal. We certainly wouldn't shy away from a horror TV movie or feature, if the opportunity is there.

Any chance of getting 'Man on a Swing' -- it looks like there was a DVD, thought I don't think it was actually released by Paramount. I watched it on the Criterion Channel the other night and really liked it a lot.

UPDATE: Apparently there is an OOP Olive blu-ray from 2012.

While I wouldn't mind seeing horror from you guys, if you feel it represents your brand, I'd rather see movies from you that wouldn't normally be released by Vinegar Syndrome.

I appreciate what Vinegar Syndrome does but there are so many non horror movies that could benefit from a release or find their audience with a fresh release.

Excellent film and, yes, Olive put out a Blu-ray several years ago, albeit barebones.

So much horror has been released or spoken for by other labels, but we will certainly try to uncover those worthwhile horror titles that our peers haven't yet uncovered. It's tougher to find those, of course, because other labels--be they indie or studio--go heavy on horror.

Glad to see Radio On made it before the year's end. Pretty cool slip design (of what I'm not sure). Nice selection of extras. That restoration looks real nice.

A cassette soundtrack release. Back in the day, 2/3 of the back part of the plastic case was often a solid color, usually black but not always.

I wasn't sure. I haven't looked at a cassette since like 1993. The songs clued me in but the solid yellow and the boarder around the songs made it look like a letter. I knew that couldn't be right.

Guess I need to pay more attention to this thread. Totally missed that the Café Flesh cassette was up. I guess I just assumed that would show up on the VS site once it was available.
