I just saw this Dune box from Imprint on the deals page and Disc 3 will have the extended TV version directed by Alan Smithee.

Way over priced for me and I only want the TV cut.

Any thoughts on this box?

I totally missed this new Via Vision/Imprint release, that outer box is pretty cool. It essentially looks like a 4K version of the limited blu ray set Via Vision released last year.

Here's what's on the blu-ray from last year, info from Via Vision's website

https://viavision.com.au/shop/dune-1...ase-art-cards/

“Impressions of Dune” – documentary

“The key new extra is a very good commentary on the Extended Version by Max Evry, the author of an exhaustively researched book on everything to do with Lynch’s bold Dune epic, A Masterpiece in Disarray: David Lynch’s Dune, an Oral History. Evry covers the whole story from multiple points of view, filling most of the running time with relevant, fascinating detail.” – Trailers From Hell
I picked up last year's blu-ray because of the TV cut and the documentary.

This new 4K collector's set is pretty expensive, buying it seems more a matter of really wanting the special packaging because Via Vision is even selling the set on their site right now for AUD $200. Disc wise it looks like Via Vision has last year's limited blu ray packed in the new set with the new 4K.

Since you're primarily interested in the TV cut, to spend less you might try tracking down a copy of Via Vision's limited blu ray from last year, but that's going to be tough. There's an auction up on Ebay right now with a $90 starting bid and California seller.

I'm unsure of what recent European releases have the TV cut, if one does that could be the best option right now.

There is a Blu-ray of the extended cut from Germany for under 20 Euros, the only hard part will be ordering it, the only place I know of it being listed is Amazon.de. It is cheaper to just get the US DVD.

Thanks for the info.

I do have the DVD of the TV Cut that came in a steel box.

Hopefully a boutique label in America will release the Dune Extended TV Cut.

Kino release Wh0re in America after I paid big bucks for the Imprint release.
