That's definetly the HMV one and can only assume they've called it a steelbook because it's a limited edtion set.

So, don't expect it to be the steelbook, regardless of the picture shown, because the steelbook has been OOP for a long time, whilst the HMV set hasn't.

Play.com were the only British based retailer to get a steelbook. Someone at Zavvi obviously wasn't doing their job properly.

The reason I asked was that they have both the Resident Evil and Karate Kid Steelbooks with the same title with the correct pictures.

Well of course they're HMV exclusive steelbooks, so presumably they thought the Terminator Salavtion exclsuive was also a steelbook.

If Zavvi are selling product that was exclusive to HMV then that tells you they either broke into their warehouse or HMV are dumping old stock to get much needed cash (HMV buy stock with cash only it now seems).

More worrying than strange especially if you have money owed to you by HMV or own their shares.

Another thing could be HMV were forced to return stocks that they had never actually paid for (ie 'sale or return'). This is a much used term of sale but maybe less so with exclusives.

I dunno.

A quick sniff around the industry trade sites shows HMV got new head honcho staff last week. They've obviously taken a fresh look on things.

I think HMV are due £54,000,000 (54 million) in a couple of weeks in cash from their sale of the Waterstone chain. The thing is the company they sold it to is made up of companies including HMV Group PLC but they do have a Russian backer with ££££s to spare.

Either way HMV have been asking for more 'sale or return' as I thought and I've no idea if that's a good or bad thing. Expect massive shop closures for sure.

As long as I don't have to pay for any mess.

I just got this through the post from Amazon and the copy is clearly second hand, Saving Private Ryan is clearly second hand also. What is the option for returning it?

If it's from Amazon itself contact them through your account, they'll send out replacements if you want and you can drop off the other ones at a Collect+ point.

They'll refund £1.49 if you post them back yourself but if you don't have a Collect+ point in your area PM them and ask them for a Returns label.

Update: Since you're in Iran I doubt you have a Collect+ point. Tell them how annoyed you are with 2nd hand goods they'll probably send you replacements and tell you to keep the other ones, as they'll cost too much to post back.

I'm not in Iran, that's just a way of being supportive. Thanks, I contacted them and I'm getting a refund, how Amazon are able to pass off second hand stuff as new is beyond me, surely trading standards would have something to say about that?

They'll never admit to selling second-hand goods it will always be an accident. They do have some used stock coming through their warehouses so it's not impossible that it can be mixed in with the new. I think I've had used goods twice through them and both times I had a replacement sent out within a day or two.

The Collect+ points are a pain. I have to send a LOST box set back and they'll only refund me £1.49 or £1.79 of the postage if I send it back myself. I much preferred printing out a label and just dropping it off at the Post Office. I'm sure they'll give a Returns label if I ask but we shouldn't have too. We should have the 2 options available to us.

Did you get replacements or just a refund?

I'm getting a refund, no replacement option available which probably means there are multiple second hands.

I was considering using Zaavi instead for the 2 films but Zaavi have Terminator Salvation listed twice on their website, one is 8.95, the other is RRP, I'm wondering if the 8.95 is second hand also, confusing and frustrating.

Given the scant product details on the RRP version I'd hazard a guess that that one is a placeholder that never got taken down for one reason or another. Should be safe enough with the version at £8.95, that's pretty much what it goes for these days.

Regardless of whatever offer this appears in online, it's available for peanuts on ebay.

One such example:

I picked up a brand new copy of Saving Private Ryan from my local Asda for a fiver which was cheaper than the Amazon second hand one, unfortunately they didn't have terminator salvation.

Hey mate
I orginally got the UK one, but I picked up the US one for 4$ bid the other day (thought why not for only a few pennies)

I watch my BD on PC, with 25" monitor & 5.1 Headset with Asus Xonar DX sound card - not as good as a proper system i know

PQ for me, is much much clearer for most scenes. Much more colour - especially in the SUB when Connor goes in there from the Jet. I could see soo much more detail of what was in the room

The sound, well.. i can't speak for everyone, but it was HEAPS better. For my ears, like going from Rambo TrueHD to the US DTS Master Audio Track - this is in terms of clarity, more spacious audio, slightly deeper bass. It felt like watching the movie again. The sound just feel more real

I'ma gonna sell off my UK Disk or give it away
