Its been great chatting, trading, disputing, arguing, etc, etc with you all!!!!!
For me this site has replaced the HTF. There was far too much pro-HD-DVD venom there for me to ever go back. Until something replaces Blu-Ray, I'll be here.

I'll still be coming here just as much!

It's now time to just relax, read and talk about all the new titles coming our way!

My guess is traffic will lower some but the type of threads will change. Right now the majority of threads on the main page are all about HD DVD and in time that will stop. I'm assuming it will be replaced with more productive threads and the overall forum will improve drastically.

If there is enough confusion by MS and Toshiba about downloads, many people might say they are going to wait it out until they see if downloads become a reality.

I don't think so. First, Toshiba has said they won't make a Blu-ray player. And then there is this:

"While we are disappointed for the company and more importantly, for the consumer, the real mass market opportunity for high definition content remains untapped"

They can't acknowledge that Blu-ray is the answer. There are already reports that MS and Toshiba are going to concentrate on downloads. Anyone who wants to have warm and fuzzy feelings about Toshiba should think about that. They are not through fighting the BDA and Blu-ray. They have only stopped doing it with a failed strategy, namely hd-dvd.

I will definately come here for reviews and for new player anouncements but it is true that some of the excitement might be gone but this site will still be a benificial site for me.

One thing I do know that I will choose more wisely on BD purchases becasue their will be a lot more movie available now and if the currnet prices continue I will not be able to afford buy the amount new releases that I currently buy now.

This is just the start for Blu now studios can really get there teeth into it. The technology has allot of potential all of which will be discussed on this site what with the possibilities of 3D and ........ oh I've said too much but the future is bright the future is BLU!

I've been coming to this site several times a day for more than a year, but I've only been a member since September. I did a fair amount of research before I decided on Blu-ray. I almost went purple over the Transformers ordeal, but I stayed true to blu and spent stupid amounts of money on players and movies. Now that red is dead I will continue to visit this and several other Blu sites to keep up on hardware and movie releases. I look forward to many of my favorite movies and TV series to be released on Blu. The future is Blu Can some one tell me where to go to post new threads. I've never posted a new thread before

Default The War Continues!

The war will go on now, next up for Blu is SD-DVD and Digital Downloads, both has some advantages/disadvantages and of course SD-DVD has a huge lead in titles. All of us, including the BDA need to start working on this new competition as to make Blu-ray a standard vs. a niche product. The stakes are the same and are still high, no rest for the weary.

I can only hope that the childish name calling back and forth will finally stop. Comments from both sides just got ridiculous.

it is no war with SD-DVD. I remember when I bought my DVD player back in 1999 and I had many conversations with VHS Fans. It will just be a matter of time before DVD goes obselete, and blu ray will be the next main stream. Now this Digital Downloads. I dont think I am going to be worrying about that. I love my media content as hard copy's.

Downloads are for a person with different needs

now that the war is done. I give DVD's another 2 years and it will be obsolete

Default What are we going to talk about

What will we have to talk about since we can't bash hd-dvd and talk about how long it will take for paramount and universal to go blu and how long hd-dvd will last?

Blu-ray?

Just a guess

I figure we'll lose a lot of participation after a few weeks . . . I think most people's interest and inclination to participate was fueled by the format war.

Oh snap! Seven more posts and I'm a guru bizzles!

Default Blu-ray.com THE NEXT CLASS

Well Gang, lots of defining news the last 6 weeks. I can't help but feel like a Senior dwelling on his final weeks before graduation!! LOL I'm quickly feeling like us early adopters are becoming obsolete and unneccesary anymore!!

IMHO, really the only thing left holding up graduation is Paramounts pending accouncement. After that, what purpose will us early adopters serve? We helped win the war, we did the dirty work and fought the good fight just like the first troops to hit the beach or tear down Saddam's statue, or the first to see Mousolini's body hanging, we were the first. So I think it's time to go home and let the overwhelming amount of Freshmen that seem to have hit this site take over and take it to the next level.

Now that there is a single format, retailers won't have to split space or advertising dollars to promote two formats so you'll see the other 93% quickly learn about blu I think.

I prefer to not be like Screech and continue to teach at school because I can't leave, but rather visit during home coming when we hear cool news like Star Wars going blu, Transformers, etc.

I just can't continue seeing thread after useless thread being asked, "When is Star Wars Coming?", When is blah, blah coming?" Freshmen will be Freshmen and we can't change that. THere is only so many wedgies I can give to the newbies and I think that may be where this site goes. I think it's time for us Seniors to go off and finally enjoy being blu not worrying about if its a temporary gift or not.

Let the next class of Freshmen come in and let the Matrix start all over again while we remain the forefathers of blu!!

I like the wedgie idea. Watching them walk funny is always a plus.

You want a forefather, look at my join date. There are plenty who joined before me but oddly don't come as often. I have been following this since before either product was out, and Sony tried to get Toshiba to join them and prevent the format war.

Alas, I don't expect to see my face on the blu-ray $1 bill. Just a little appreciation is all I ask. I offer mine in return.
