Ryu has this too, I think it's just an after-image when the characters move so fast you can barely see it.

Gonna update the first post with some of this in a mo.

I'm sure everyone can appreciate some good lighting with the impeccable shadowing and what not...yeah...

Though the only complaint that I can think of would be the faces not being detailed enough, but seriously, who is even looking up there anyway? lol

Anime faces can be more detailed but I think this is how they want it.

Well I just finished watching a trailer for the game and I'm really impressed on how...'smooth' everything is with how fast pace it is as well. Reminds me a lot of Metal Gear Solid 4 with fast action ninja skills, lol.

Geez, I can't believe I just caught wind of this. I haven't been keeping up with game info at all. NG/NG Black and now NG Sigma are my all time favorite action titles. I've also played through NG2 on the 360 several times, and all the screens I've seen so far for this latest title are more than enough to get me to double dip - it looks like it'll be a better game over all. I can't wait for this one.

NO!
This is exactly HOW I want their faces to look!
DOA4's graphics was great but not awesome! I mean so much detail in the environment design, and you look at the characters, their modelling looks so poor:/

DOA4's graphics is just DOA2U+DOA3 In HD.

This is how their faces should look like, not the childish anime style in DOA.

Look at Ayane's eyes, see the shininess and reflections?

(and what happened to the c loving friend!? >:@!)

Final version should have the PSN branding too. From a beauty POV I'd rather it had neither but maybe the Euro version will be mess-free.
Ooh. I like that. Simple yet Ryu still looks like a bamf.

Just been checking into Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword for some character info.

Turns out Momiji is Kureha's sister:

Quote:
Kureha

A Dragon Lineage shrine-maiden who served the shrine inside Hayabusa Village. She grew up alongside Ryu, but tragically lost her life in Doku's attack during the Dark Dragon Blade Incident. As protector of the Eye of the Dragon, she was loved by the people of the village.

Quote:
Momiji

A female Ninja who trains with Ryu every day in the Hayabusa Village.

As the sister of Kureha, who was killed by the Fiends, Momiji is the last of the Dragon Lineage shrine-maidens.

And the kid is..

Quote:
Sanji

Lost his parents in the destruction of the Hayabusa Village during the Dark Dragon Blade Incident. The strength in his eyes reminds many of Ryu as a boy. Even at his young age, Sanji is a master swordman, able to wield a sword in each hand.

Shin-Ra we knew Momiji was Kureha's sister:/
Although a lot of people didn't know who the trash kid was.
I think the kid was captured by one of those demon with wings creature, and Momiji must find and rescue the kid. The pendant bead Momiji is holding is what was hanging on to the kid's hip.

You mean face details?
That's one of the grudges I hold against DOA/NG's graphics:/

I assume you mean the faces are more perfectly rounded with enough polygons. I think the characters are modeled wonderfully, high poly from finger to foot but when given the appropriate budget (hardware performance and otherwise) it's human nature to focus on faces and get that perfect first. Cutscenes are often likely to focus close-up on faces.

The higher the quality of facial modeling, the easier I'm sure it is to animate without bits looking stretched or angular.

I've ordered an £8 copy of NG: Dragon Sword so I can catch up properly. Swishy stylus action, here I come!
