The last poster I got from overseas was packed in PVC pipe, it was awesome, I've never seen anything like it before I swear I could of played baseball with that tubing and not have hurt the poster.

I think there is a dealer here in the USA that uses that, I never thought of that, was that PVC then placed inside a tube or was that the tube itself?

It was just the tube, a black PVC tube in the mail with the mailing address stuck to it. The poster was in a sleeve inside and then foam peanuts on the end... I'd say your packaging is just as good, i just haven't seen anything as strong as the the PVC tubing, I swear I could drive my car over that thing

I am curious, was the PVC pipe just wide enough to fit the poster in or was it larger, say 3-4 inch opening so a person could surround it with peanuts? Kind of like the way I package up, but curious if it was a wider opening to compensate or if it was only like a 1-inch opening. I wonder how much PVC piping would run.....

It was the width of the poster, not packed with peanuts at all to the degree yours are. I just called my folks as I gave them the poster that was in it and apparently the tube is no more as they took the poster to costco to have it plaqued as they always do and costco disposes of the tubes.

"took to Costco to have it plaqued".....what does that mean? You mean you have it dry mounted?

That is very odd that it didn't sell out in seconds like the Mondo/Alamo prints do. I wonder if Mondo had originally advertised it, if it would have.

Every so often a poster will come out that will surprise people (and dealers) and be a difficult one to get. "Drive" is one such poster, and with the film getting very positive reviews, a simple yet nice poster design, and the fact that its distributed by a very tiny studio, makes for a difficult poster to get. The old "supply and demand" kicks in here, low supply, high demand, means the price jumps up rather quickly, faster than most new releases. The first Twilight was such a case of this too, small studio that most people hadn't heard from, and not many posters floating around on the secondary market made them virtually impossible to find. But be forewarned, those dealers who are only interested in the money aspect of this hobby will start pumping out fakes left and right to capitalize on it (much like they did with Twilight, Dark Knight, etc). Even 27x40 fakes and reprints will start appearing so you have to be quite vigilant if searching for an original.

Yeah I would hate to buy a poster only to find out it's a reprint. I have a buddy who is a manager at a movie theatre, I'm trying to see if he can snag the poster for me

my frame arrived. not bad for the price but the clear plastic panel thingy kinda dulls the colour and sharpness abit. But not bad for the price.

p.s. forgive how messy my room is.

It happens all the time, people buying posters thinking they are originals when they are reprints. Part of it is due to the fact that some dealers don't bother to inform customers that they are reprints or counterfiets, other times it is buyers who don't read item descriptions, especially on eBay stating it is a reprint, etc. Your friend should be able to order one from their distributor since he manages a theater as you said.

The images stated Amazon.com, did you buy them from a seller on there? Just curious as lots of reprints floating around on Amazon, but wasn't sure if you were looking for originals or reprints. The Thor one is nice, they only made two styles for Thor's domestic release but did some nice posters for the International release as well.

I've found a few of these Mondo prints I'm interested in on ebay but how can you guarantee you're getting the real deal and not an 80 dollar reprint? Hard to pull the trigger on something like this sight-unseen, I know 99% of these are likely on the up and up but is there anything I should be looking for or asking in particular?
